Games-related IT jobs in Dublin

Folks,

The following mails were sent to the IGA (and to a heap of gamers)
with a request to pass them on. It's genuine (and in all honesty
probably the worst kept secret in Dublin) and the recruiter's contact
details are included in the mails.

Now, re the "finders fee"... If anyone goes for interview following
this mail and gets a job, I'd ask ye to direct the finder's fee to the
IGA/Gaelcon Charity Account - contact details iga@...

Cheers,

Anton

Hi there,

Important: read it before you delete it!!!

It's obvious that you are a MMORPG player. I was wondering I you might
be interested in the job of a lifetime. I'm looking for experienced
MMORPG players who are over 18, speak English, French or German
fluently, are EU citizens and have the desire to play games all day
and get paid for it (20.000 EUR to 27.500 EURO per year including
benifits).

If this is you? Keep on reading.

For my client I am looking for people like you!

Play games, have fun!

Aloha! Me again!

First of all, I'd like to thank eveyone who turned up on Friday for the Magic:
the Gathering tournament, especially Oli Bird, who stepped in to run the
contest at the last moment. I'd like to see some more people along this
friday for the second installment of this series. These regualr tournaments
are open to the public, so anyone who wants to come along and be in with a
chance of winning the prize can feel free to do so. The tournament will
start at 6pm sharp this friday, and the entrance fee is €2.

Secondly, I'm currently seeking submissions for One-shot RPGs and LARPs, as
well as more inventive gaming ideas. We'll be hosting these games about
campus, and would welcome anyone who wished to take part, student or not! I
currently have a few people penciled in to run games, so watch this space!

Finally, a reminder that Leprecon is still taking subsissions for all
events, and will soon be taking pre-bookings. Checkout www.leprecon.ie or
e-mail leprecondublin@... for more details.

Shoggoth on the roof

You may have heard whispers. You may have heard rumours. You may have heard
nothing. At last, we can break our secrecy and let you know about the most
special of Special Events planned for Leprecon 28: The musical that cannot
and must not be staged, "A Shoggoth on the Roof", will be taking place in
Goldsmith Hall during Leprecon for two full performances!!

In his house in R'lyeh dead Cthulhu lies dreaming - but he shall awaken!

For those of you who don't know (shame on you!), "A Shoggoth on the Roof" is
a cult musical parody of "Fiddler on the Roof" based on the works of H.P.
Lovecraft. Featuring shoggoths, deep ones, byakhee, Great Old Ones and even
greater musical numbers, this insane travesty of a musical tracks the occult
happenings in Arkham, Massachussetts as witnessed by Professor Henry
Armitage and his three daughters.

With this fully-sanctioned first EVER English-language performance of
"Shoggoth", with an all-new lawsuit-free musical score, we hope to make
Leprecon 28 a truly memorable experience for all who attend!

Expect madness, horror, death, comedy, and an appearance by Great Cthulhu
himself!

Also, for those who just have to experience the madness firsthand, we will
be holding auditions for "Shoggoth" on Saturday the 18th November at 2pm in
the Players Rehearsal Room on Trinity College campus, and would like to
invite anyone with singing/dancing/acting interests who lives in the Dublin
area to please attend. Bring a song you've prepared and let the voices in
your head take over! For more information, contact Stephen on
stevo991 <at> hotmail.com / 085-7391915.

K2 2007

Hey,

K2 2007

2nd - 5th March 2007
Killarney Country Club, Co Kerry.

2 nights self-catering for EUR80
3 nights self-catering for EUR115

K2 is on in a few months time, but isn't this the best possible time to
prebook for the best (and only) adult only, fully residential con in
Ireland?

The rules are simple, bring yourself and bring a game.

There's also a pool!

What more do you need to know?

Emailing me at lir at lspace dot org, with payment at the con, is a
perfectly acceptable way of booking.

Warpcon

Hi there folks!

We're currently trying to organise our annual trip to Warpcon. We need a
few bits of information before we can go any further.

We've been trying to get in touch with the WARPS organisers to find out the
prices and arrangements for con entry, accomodation and whether or not there
will be travel arrangements made.

If there won't be travel available, we'd like to get in contact with other
Dublin gaming groups and see if we can arrange between us to hire a bus
there and back for all that need it. Obviously if we were to do so, we'd
need to co-ordinate that carefully, so I'd need detailed info fairly soon.

Hope to hear back soon:
