We're still on the look out for RPGs. If you want to
support the con and have some ideas for a con scenario, simply
fill out the sumssion form which you can find at

http://uccwarps.net/index.php?
option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=29&func=view&id=144&catid=8

Once you've filled out the form, simply e-mail it to me at

We greatly appreciate all the hard work that goes into writing con

Thanks,

Indie-RPGs at Gaelcon

Hi,

This year I'm organising something new at Gaelcon. Based the very
sucessful Indie-RPGs track at Conpulsion, there will be an Indie-RPG
track at Gaelcon this year.

Indie-rpgs, or independant roleplaying games, are small press
independantly produced game systems. There are a large number of such
systems around and many exciting new ideas are being explored in these
system.

The track will consist of a number of one hour demos, long enough to
get a taste for what the system a to offer, and short enough to fit
into a hectic Gaelcon weekend.

I'm putting together a timetable at the moment, in the meantime, if
anyone has any systems they'd be interested in running as part of this
track, or has any suggestions - let me know.

Adam.

Urban gaming in Dublin?

Hi,

I've just found this event in New York:
http://www.comeoutandplay.org

Do you know of any group in Dublin that stages urban games? If not,
maybe it's time to start one?

I especially liked this game:
http://www.comeoutandplay.org/2006/08/06/cruel-2-b-kind/

It involves walking around the city and trying to find your prey by
doing kind things for strangers. It requires virtually no technical setup.

Other than that, can you recommend LARPs in the Dublin area? I'm new here.

Thanks,
Simon

Re: Urban gaming in Dublin?

I believe the Camarilla are about to start a new venue, and run MAge the
awakening monthly in dublin, an excellent opportunity for people to join
in a new game, especially if you like mage. (i personally have fallen in
love with this white wolf's latest work)

They also run monthly games of Vampire: REquiem, and Werewolf: Forsaken,
and i can give you more details if you like.

I believe there is a group of people still running rubber swordie type
lrp's (if thats what you meant by larp) but I don't know who precisely to
talk to.

Trinity gamers will likely be trying to run at least one larp for the
begining of the new college term, although I know priority for places in
that game will have to go to new student members of the society.

I don't know about any of the other gaming groups in dublin, Gaelcon is
hte next big thing in dublin, and will likely have a few of the usual
locals running larps. (as far as i am aware most folk tend to keep to
con's which is a pity in some ways.)

hope that's helpful.

Re: Urban gaming in Dublin?

Cian,

I'm more interested in role-playing than in rubber weapons, so the Camarilla
games sound more attractive. Who do I contact there? I just found out about
Gaelcon yesterday, and I'll definitely show up.

Thanks,
Simon

Re: Urban gaming in Dublin?

Well, I'm yer man for Mage in Ireland. The aim is for character creation and
general introduction for new people in early October, when we get the Dublin
venue live, and then a regular game starting November at the very least.

And its shiney and pretty, oh yes. And angst is forbidden, oh yes.

Well, I think it's the worst-kept secret in Dublin at the moment (well
- leaving aside anything involving Bertie Ahern...) Yep, it's WoW.

Note, Aidan's original subject line is a bit misleading. You are
*not* being paid to roleplay. You are being paid to be an online,
