Po files already are at
http://www.cazfi.net/freeciv/translations/S2_2/ though at this point
immediately after branching they are identical to TRUNK ones.

Uhm. Are you talking about existing po-file in svn? There has been no
update-po since 2.1.9 release. Translators are expected to do
update-po themselves. Or you can get results of latest (01-Jul-09 for
S2_1) update-po I did from http://www.cazfi.net/freeciv/translations/

To all translators: Most translations still list old bug report
address. Please update that before 2.1.10 release. (Well, I guess old

Is there a way to remove this last occurence of the contents of the BUG_URL
constant in the source? This is data/helpdata.txt line 55.

Only if we generate final helpdata.txt from some template file.
Problem is that it would mean that data directory from svn is not
usable without processing as it currently is. That would break my
builds for Windows http://www.cazfi.net/freeciv/builds/win.html at
least.

I mean "cd po ; make update-po" which will create up to data
freeciv.pot and msgmerge po files against it. Otherwise you will be
translating Freeciv 2.1.9 and not latest S2_1 as strings are last
collected to po-file at 2.1.9 release time.
I checked http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Localization and there seems
to be instructions to create pox-file (after up to date freeciv.pot)

Short answer: Current string is technically correct, but maybe
meaning is not very clear.

Client gets two kinds of command-line parameters: those handled by
client common code, and those specific to certain client. "--" means
that following parameters are not to be handled by common code but
should be passed to client specific library.
"--theme" is specific to SDL-client, so you would set theme for it
like "freeciv-sdl -- --theme human" or "freeciv-sdl -- -t human"
(freeciv-sdl is executable name in S2_2/trunk).
"-t" means "--tileset" in client common side, so you can even have
"freeciv-sdl -t amplio -- -t human"

How about using %s so the translator doesnt have to worry about
translating that part?

By changing this option you change the active theme. This is the same

Serbian translation

Hello to all Freeciv localization community members!

Just for fun, a year ago I have translated a significant amount of
Freeciv messages into Serbian (both Cyrillic and Latin). Over the time
there were several friends of mine including my little sister who asked
for this unpublished localization and give back some updates and fixes.

Before I continue and take some time to publish the new localization I
would like to ask if anybody is working or was interested before to work
on the Serbian translation so we do not double the work?

Thanks,
Goran
