A new 2.1 release may happen soon

Hopefully there will be a new release of the S2_1 branch soon (in
a week or two), so I would remind translators to please submit any
updated translations they have been working on.

The exact release date will depend on the other maintainers (and
may get pushed back if some critical bugs are found), but should
be at least one and a half weeks from today, so perhaps around
March 14.

Thanks for the heads-up, Madeline, and Marko for the update-po run! The
work left was just suitable for doing with a 1-month-old in my lap. X-)

Updated Finnish translations at http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/ruohomaa/po/
(gz and plain versions are equal), fi.po.trunk for trunk and fi.po.s2_1
for stable. Can someone commit these again? Thanks!

Best regards,

It updates only when ever I have time and remember to run update-po.

 I just did :-)

by the way, is there any way we could get this extension to our translation efforts.

I made a ticket for this request (40745); I'm not sure how feasible it
would be to add this, but I'll check it out later when I have some time.

Thanx,
The hard work, as i see it, is to find all the strings in the code, and decide where it should be adjective.

Last-minute change to translated strings

Dear Freeciv translators,

Due to the recent trouble with metaservers, we have made some changes to
S2_1 that introduced a new translated string.

If you update your translations within the day, the updated translation
will make it into 2.1.9. :)

Best,

Daniel

problem with nation adjective

Hello,

can you help me to get this right before the update:

#. TRANS: "<nation adjective>, team <team name>"
#: client/text.c:118
#, c-format
msgid "%s, team %s"
msgstr "%s, Team %s"

This gives (I think) the text for the popup (middle mouse click) either of a
city or a unit.

But:

It looks that nation_adjective_for_player works differently in these 2
cases.

For a unit, I read: (die wikingisch, Team Team 0, Jorvik) what is wrong,
while, for a city, I read: chris (wikingisch, Team Team 0) (correct).

Why?

Got it, my mistake was here:

#. TRANS: "Unit: <unit type> | <username>
#. * (<nation + team>, <homecity>)"
#. TRANS: "Unit: <unit type> | <username> (<nation + team>,
#. * <diplomatic state>)"
#: client/text.c:287
#: client/text.c:313
#, c-format
msgid "Unit: %s | %s (%s, %s)"
msgstr "Einheit: %s | %s (%s, %s)"

Too pity poedit doesn't show TRANS comments.
