Re: looong map change tiems

dma is on..always has been. I even deleted the entire install and
reinstalled. I also have a 1.6 server with over 8k maps installed and
it changes just fine. It's not s system wide issue..:)

--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
I'm trying to run a 1000 fps server, yet i cant reach those specs. I have a
core 2 duo 2.4 ghz and running debian 4.0 ( kernel 2.8.16 ).

My server will only top out at 250, What am I doing wrong ?

My current cmd line is as follows

./hlds_run -game cstrike -tickrate 10000 +fps_max 1000 -pingboost 3
+maxplayers 32 +map de_dust

finding server through browsing

Hey,

A little question. For some reason our CS and CS:S servers are hard to find through the steambans
serverbrowser. One server popped up after 4 times refreshing, but the other server weren't found (we have
11 CS servers and 7 CS:S, and only one CS:S server showed up). What could be wrong? We have only one nic inside
each server and no ranges are banned by the firewall..

Any suggestions?

RE: finding server through browsing

Posting your server.cfg may help a little more in trying to see if there are any issues. Be sure to *** out any
private information like passwords though. ; )

Re: HLDS Server FPS will not go over 250 frames per second

If you are running 1 gameserver on 2 cores then it will loose some because
of switching between core 0 and 1.
Its better to assign one gameserver to each core !

start with-
taskset -c 0 ./srcds_run

- for core 0

Re: finding server through browsing

Maybe a stupid question, but what does the server.cfg have to do with it?
There are no settings related to that, to my knowledge.

RE: finding server through browsing

Whether or not its public or private, what the host name is, the IP - all things that I could also take a look at
and see if I can replicate your issue - or check against my currently working server.cfg's to see if there is
anything that can be tweaked? Its your choice - post up on the forums and use the search feature as well
though - because this subject does often come up.
