Re: [RTNow] Corrected Release - Albert Version 6.0.1

Brilliant Jason.  Good work. Sell it to Playdiplomacy.com...  I bet you could even write a thesis on it.
Do people still play on Rtnow?

I had to repair an oops that essentially restricted its default depth of thought.

Sorry to anyone who downloaded.

updates here:

This should work a little better.

Released - Albert version 6.0

It has happened...

Albert 6.0 is finally and officially released; and it is NOT a minor upgrade.

Albert now plays Level 30 press games with press for the arrangement of orders. (XDO)

There is finally an AI that can work out a plan of attack and arrange with other powers. The last release of
Albert was 3 years ago, so this one has been a long time coming. But I think it is fair to say that this adds a
completely new dimension to DAIDE AI.

I am excited for Albert and what I have done, but I am more importantly excited for the DAIDE project.

https://sites.google.com/site/diplomacyai/albert/downloads

There are many things Albert still doesn't do... such as accept order proposals during adjustment phases.
And I am sure many of the decisions it makes are not exactly how a human would respond.

But it *does* do a lot of things. I hope everyone who has an interest in this project, or ever has, checks it out
and plays a couple of games against it at level 30.

We may have a long way to go, but we also have come a very long way.

Jason

Heath,

I think it's more that nobody posts any messages here any more. Games
usually dry up over the summer, and then pick up again as winter comes. But
in 2011 and 2012, that hasn't happened.

David.

New Years' real-time?

I don't seem to get messages from this group anymore, so I'll try to check
on the website or you can email me directly at heath.gardner@... -

Tomorrow is New Years' Eve and I have simply decided that my wife's plans
are not my cup of tea. I will, as a result, be shut in. If any of you are
similarly shut in like me and would like to play some DAIDE, let me know.

Longer-term idea: I would really like to play an open-board (Wilson
variant) discussion game sometime using Google Hangouts. If anyone is
interested in that idea in general, please email me.

Thanks! :-)

Heath
