Hi -- I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot get the shell command to work. I have built and installed xemacs-21.4-12 on Red Hat 7.2 running on an Alpha workstation. At first I had to hack routine 'start_of_data' in sysdep.c, to avoid a core-dump during xemacs startup. When I now start xemacs, it only has a small subset of shell related commands, such as "shell-command", but not the "shell" command itself. The "shell" option is shaded out in the pulldowns. When I compare to a 19.4 kit, it has a set of files in comint of which one is called 'shell.el'. Neither comint nor 'shell.el' is part of the 21.4 kit. What am I doing wrong? What do I have to do to make the shell work? The xemacs help suggests that the shell command should just work. In my case it doesn't. Tried a 21.5 kit and it behaves the same way. Yes I have all 4 levels of Power Play Baccarat .It sells for $1000 all 4 levels .Level 1 will make you a good living and level 4 will make you a percentage player the casinos will fear .It makes 50 to 60 units per shoe an wins 9 out of 10 shoes .If your system for playing the pick 3 is really that good ,I will trade you power play for it.I can e-mail level 1 for you to look over .You will really lov the system.Regards ,J.L.

is edebug broken?

Or is it just me? I'm running XEmacs 21.4 (patch 12) "Portable Code" [Lucid] (i386-unknown-freebsd4.7, Mule) of Mon Mar 3 2003 on baloo.meduseld.net And have the latest edebug: 1.15. Instrumenting a function for debugging does not result in edebug being entered when the function is called. In fact nothing at all happens... the function is not run at all. This also happens when running xemacs w/the -q option. For me, yes, edebug 1.15 is broken. I've reverted to 1.14 and that works fine. davep> Or is it just me? This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team, not to your local site managers!! Please write in English, because the XEmacs maintainers do not have translators to read other languages for them. In XEmacs 21.4 (patch 10) "Military Intelligence" [Lucid] (i686-pc-linux, Mule) of Mon Nov 25 2002 on westmalle configured using `configure --with-mule --prefix /opt/xemacs --with-widgets=athena --without-sound' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: I've had this problem for ages. I feel stupid that everytime instead of noting the error message and reporting it, I fire up my workaround instantly. It has to do with the paren-mode. I think I have a matching parent showing a highlight, then I open a new file, using TAB abusively, splitting the screen in two for completion, then either I open the file or I give up, and I get back to my original file. This is where I get the message about paren modifier quitting something. Result is that every highlight of matching paren will remain on screen forever. Unless I quickly paren-set-mode a couple times until back to my original mode. That makes everything back to normal. The error message is not shown in the message log, and I cannot seem to be able to reproduce it although I'm confident that it happens every week.
