[emacs-w3m:08827] w3m-e22

Hi,

thank you for developing w3m.

After installing it as described

on

GNU Emacs 22.0.50.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)

(load "MY-PATH/w3m.elc" nil t)

produced an error:

"w3m-e22" couldn't be found"

w3m-e22.el is required but not distributed, as it seems..

Had to change the following section in w3m.el:

   ((>= emacs-major-version 22)
    ;;     (require 'w3m-e22))
    (require 'w3m-e21)) ;; changed section

Now it works fine.

If you are interested in emacs-w3m under development as well as
Emacs under development, you can obtain a snapshot using anon
CVS (see http://emacs-w3m.namazu.org/index-en.html) or ViewCVS
as:

http://cvs.namazu.org/emacs-w3m.tar.gz?view=tar

That version supports Emacs 22 and 23 (w/ no warranty).

Hello,

Should this be the default? Actually I have no clue what
SHTML is or if it even exists but the 'x' makes sense, IMHO.

M-x customize-variable RET w3m-local-find-file-regexps RET

Set the regular expression to something like \.\(s\|x\)?html?\'

実はぼくも w3m 上で C-xC-f したときに "~/.w3m" からはじまるのが
嫌で同等のことをやっています ^^;;;

なので、w3m-default-directory のようなものが出来ると良いです。

w3m-default-directory
=>
(1) ディレクトリ名ならそいつをそのまま使う。
(2) symbol(default-directory とか w3m-profile-directory とか)
    ならそいつを eval した結果を使う。

な感じかしら。

同じことを考えてました。後でやります。

I've added a new user option to the emacs-w3m CVS repository[1]:

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
`w3m-default-directory'

Documentation:
*Directory used as the current directory in emacs-w3m buffers.
The valid values include a string specifying an existing directory,
a symbol of which the value specifies an existing directory,
a function which takes a url as an argument and returns a directory,
or nil. If the specified directory does not exist or it is nil,
the value of `w3m-profile-directory' is used.

Note that there is an exception: if a page visits a local file or
visits a remote file using ftp, the directory in which the file exists
is used as the current directory instead.
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
