mmm and the emacs server

Hi,

I am using the new emacs 23 as a server (see e.g. http://www.faulhammer.org/archiv-mainmenu-31/35-gentoo/267-emacs-daemon-and-23-release-schedule).

I am having problems with font locking. I am using the hints form the eamcswiki page:
http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs-en/HtmlModeDeluxe

When I open a php file with HTML and php content, then the regions are identified correctly. However there is almost no font locking. Actually the font locking closely resembles the restricted font locking I get if I open the php-file in a terminal emacs.

When I start emacs 23 not as a client to the server, then font locking works as expected.

I guess that the problem is related to the following:
When the emacs server is started, it knows nothing about X. Somehow, however, the font locking of the mmm mode is fixed when the server starts. So even when I open an emacs frame later, the wrong font locking is used.

Regards,

Johannes
