11.82; Falsches Highliting bei Verwendung von » «

Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen.

Be sure to consult the FAQ section in the manual before submitting
a bug report. If the bug (or problem) is triggered by a specific
(La)TeX file, you should try to produce a minimal sample file
showing the problem and include it in your report.

Your bug report will be posted to the AUCTeX bug reporting list.

As I suspected you are using an older version of AUCTeX. Upgrade and
the problems should vanish (without having to fiddle with
`font-latex-quotes').

And I _did_ tell you to use bug-auctex <at> gnu.org instead and explained
why. So I am manually diverting this from the auc-tex list at
Sunsite, and apologize that people will not see the original posting
(if I moderated it through, it would appear on auctex instead of
bug-auctex, and replies would again go to Sunsite).

Your version of AUCTeX is completely outdated: 11.55 was released on
2005-02-04, 11.81 was released on 2005-09-25, about a year ago. By

Sorry, I used the bug reporting function. Since the package was
outdated, the wrong address was used.

I use CVS packages; that's why I thought it was up to date.

For the record: the mailing lists are mentioned in a number of
locations, partly with <at> <at> instead of the normal at sign (required in
TeXinfo). The current bug reporting list would be bug-auctex <at> gnu.org,
the general discussion list auctex <at> gnu.org, the developer's list
auctex-devel <at> gnu.org. Any mailing addresses of the form
auc-tex.* <at> <at> ?sunsite.dk
are outdated. They are partly dead, partly require a lot of operator
intervention to get the postings to the right addresses with the right
header.

It would be a sign of courtesy to at least correct those if nothing
else. In particular the bug reporting address in
TeX-submit-bug-report in tex.el.

make not found

Hi

I am trying to configure auctex-11.83 but I get this error message:

checking for make... no
configure: error: make not found, aborting!

I am terribly sorry if this is a simple problem caused by my technical incompetance and not really a bug
report, but I have follwed the installation instructions very carefully, and I have searched the web
thoroughly for descriptions of my problem for several days now, without any luck. I must have read
hundreds of installation guides, problem descriptions, FAQs, etc. and I have no clue about what I am doing
wrong, so I would be extremely grateful for any assistance.

Thank you in advance
Kind regards

What operating system are you using? You need to have a make utility
installed and in your PATH: how this is done very much depends on the
system in question.

Which platform are you on? Is make installed? Is make in PATH?
