I have the following problem in xemacs when I select a region containing inline images using the mouse and then hit the "cut" button. The memory consumption of the xemacs process goes through the roof. Not a huge problem for small files, but for latex documents of order 40 pages (80 kb) or so, my machine memory (256M) gets used up. Once the process starts swapping memory out to disk, the whole box effectively locks up.
