mpc is no longer required at all! Just customize
emms-player-mpd-server-name and emms-player-mpd-server-port, and you
can remotely control mpd, just as if you were using netcat.

AH ok ;) I just read the file header and I saw there was a dependency on these
two binaries.

Sorry.

Happy new year !

emms-patches mailing list

Should we start sending patches to the emms-patches mailing list? It
seems to have been created successfully.

BTW: I tried adding the following to _darcs/prefs/email, but Darcs
only wanted to send subsequent patches to the first address.

  forcer <at> forcix.cx,emms-patches <at> gnu.org

Yes, I think we should switch now. (Though I hope to be more
responsive starting from tomorrow)

Use only the latter. I'm subscribed now, so I'll receive the
patches.

A short warning: I opened the list for non-subscriber postings.
You'll receive spam. Lots of spam. If this gets too annoying, I'll
close it down to subscribers only again.

Greetings,

Will emms-patches appear on gmane automagically, or does someone need to
"opt-in"?

Someone will have to register the new list with gmane.org. I can do
that if desired.

I'd prefer to have the -patches list be subscriber-only.

The list is now available at gmane.emacs.emms.patches. In order to
post to it, you'll have to subscribe to the mailing list. One
possibility is to subscribe, but set the Mail Delivery option to
Disabled.
