dvc, latex, and ediff

i am starting to use dvc as the front end for version contol for some latex
documents.

sometimes i want to run ediff to compare the current version/revision of a file
with the previous version of the file (or several revisions earlier).

is there a way in dvc that will allow me to do this? i have tried the dvc
commands that seem the most obvious, but have not been able to do it.

Which backend are you using?
hg, git, other?
