Re: [Emacs-diffs] /srv/bzr/emacs/emacs-24 r107925: Regenerate etc/refcards/*.pdf

Personally, I think it would be fine these days to treat the refcard
pdfs like the info files. Don't keep them in the repo, but include them
in the release tarfiles (just need to make make-dist gripe/build them if
they are not found in the source tree). Every halfway modern GNU/Linux
system has suitable (optional) TeX packages. And it's not like these
pdfs have real changes very often.

emacs-24 broken logic for terminfo on netbsd

It seems to me that emacs-24's configure.in has broken logic for using
terminfo on netbsd, and so will have been using termcap instead.

configure.in refers to $ac_cv_search_tputs, which is no longer set
anywhere in configure since the removal of

  AC_SEARCH_LIBS(tputs, [ncurses terminfo termcap])

(see eg emacs-23 branch)

It seems to me that the following patch in emacs-24 would restore the
emacs-23 logic.

Has anyone been building the pretests on netbsd and can confirm?

FWIW I do agree too.

Okay.

Some files are standalone libraries, they are not part of a package
containing several files. It would be weird to say they are part of
themselve. I suggest these files just say nothing.

When I am confident all GNU ELPA package maintainers are notified
when a modification is done in their files through bzr, I will go
through the files and fix a few misleading statements.

That's ok.

Builds, bootstraps and runs fine on Windows 7 64-bit.

That will add complexity to building releases for Windows, I think.
