bbdb abbrev and wanderlust

Hello

I am thinking to switch from gnus to wanderlust since the imap backend
is so much faster. However it seems impossible to use abbrev of
mail-alias the way I am used to it when using message mode and (ordinary
or vm) mail mode.

Is there any interface missing?

Sorry not related to your question. But do you know why it is faster?
Can Gnus be improved?

Thanks,

I don't know, the whole imap backend is entirely different.

I should also add that this is for Xemacs. Gnus in GNU emacs is a little
faster than in xemacs or let me better say does not get stacked this
often.
Maybe I ask in the gnus list.

building cvs bbdb

Someone once told me how edit one or more source
files so that I could successfully build BBDB.
Please re-enlighten me.

Re: building cvs bbdb

A portion from my file, ~/INSTALL looks like this:

* bbdb
** cvs -d :pserver:anonymous <at> bbdb.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/bbdb login
** CVS password: <RET>
** cvs -d :pserver:anonymous <at> bbdb.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/bbdb checkout bbdb
** cd bbdb
** autoconf
** ./configure
** make gnus
** sudo mkdir /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/bbdb
** sudo cp lisp/*.el /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/bbdb
** sudo cp lisp/*.elc /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp/bbdb
** cd texinfo/
** makeinfo bbdb.texinfo
** cp bbdb.info /usr/local/share/info/

... and so on. AND I had managed to build a BBDB from CVS. What gives?
Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong?? I can't do it anymore as I
keep getting those `mapcar' out of date messages and that's the
definition of insanity, right?

Thank you.
