11.85; preview not rendering jpeg images

I tried the builtin example circ.tex and I can't seem to get it to
work. With png and dvipng as preview-image-type, I got errors saying

error in process sentinel: preview-reraise-error: preview-image-type
setting 'png unsupported by this Emacs

Setting it to jpeg, seems to render some black boxes inline (similar
to what you see in the HELLO file when the appropriate fonts are not
there). Of course, clicking on the boxes with mouse2/3 gives the
preview options but it refreshes to the same boxes. This is what I
also see in the *messages* buffer (lots of them).

Error reading JPEG image `(image :file

:type jpeg :ascent 63)': JPEG parameter struct mismatch: library
thinks size is 464, caller expects 432

Should the jpeg dll be present in the search path for it to render or
is it built into the canonical Emacs 22.2 version?

M-q, doesn't work in LaTeX mode.

Hello all,

not sure exactly when it started but when in LaTeX mode "fill-paragraph"
doesn't work anymore. For example if I put point anywhere in the following
paragraph, which might have been reformated by the mailers, and hit "M-q",
nothing happens. If I mark the paragraph and call "fill-region" it works,
i.e. the region, here the paragraph, gets filled. If I copy the unfilled
paragraph to the scratch buffer and hit "M-q", it does get filled, hence
the problem lies, I think, with the "LaTeX mode".

Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Did you install the libraries for image support as described in
<URL:ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/windows/README>?

Do you get a backtrace if you type `M-x toggle-debug-on-error <RET>' and
then `M-q'? If this is the case, what does it say?

Also, which versions of Emacs and AUCTeX are you using? (Please use
`M-x TeX-submit-bug-report <RET>' when reporting a problem which
includes this kind of information.)

Auctex-emacs Error

Hi,

I'm from germany and i have the same problem which is described here..

http://www.mail-archive.com/auctex <at> gnu.org/msg02973.html

I've Emacs 22.3.1. with windows vista and Miktex 2.7.

What can i do to fix this problem, so that I can go on working with
Emacs. I didn't understand what the exact Problem is an who to fix
it. Perhaps you can help me.

Where I have to add perhaps this --c-style-errors thing, which is described there. I tried it in the
latex-start-options variable, but this didn't match.

I don't think, to have an error in the .emacs oder the site-start, but to get shure:

My .emacs is here:
(setq TeX-command-list
     '(("TeX" "tex --src \"\\nonstopmode\\input %t\""
        TeX-run-TeX nil t)
   ("LaTeX" "%l --src \"\\nonstopmode\\input{%t}\""
        TeX-run-LaTeX nil t)
   ("View" "yap -1 -s \"%n %t\" %d"
        TeX-run-discard nil nil)
("BibTeX" "bibtex %s" TeX-run-BibTeX nil nil)
   ("Index" "makeindex %s" TeX-run-command nil t)))

My site-start is here:

ahh, yes, it works now. Downloaded the following

libpng-1.2.34-1-dep.zip
libpng-1.2.34-1-bin.zip
jpeg-6b-4-dep.zip
jpeg-6b-4-bin.zip

And dumped the dlls into the Emacs bin directory. And it works
great.

The plots seem to come out bleached i.e. dark lines on a mostly white
background. Can anything be done about that? If it is of any help,
my Emacs screen is white on black (std. telnet screen colour)

This doesn't say anything? Nor in the minibuffer neither in the *Message*
buffer. I also discovered that in particular instances M-q will work, e.g.
if I am in a construct like the following:

\begin{figure}[H]

\includegraphics[width = 12.5cm, keepaspectratio, angle =

Re: PDF Forward search

Hello,
A long time has passed and AUCTeX now support Synctex in the CVS build.

I use syntex and I am trying to get support for forward search via
AUCTeX.

At the moment I am using sumatra-forward.el:
http://william.famille-blum.org/software/sumatra/sumatra-forward.el

Is there any alternative solution bundeled with AUCTeX. I have looked in
the dev. list but it seems that synctex han merly been supported, not
utilized for forward search. At least not directly in AUCTeX. Is this
correct or have I missed something?

The troubles seemes to be that SumatraPDF works via DDE client which
seems to be problematic. . .

I am using WinXP with EmacsW32 v.23 from december '08 and AUCTeX CVS from
january '09.

Thanks,
Rasmus

I cannot reproduce this. I usually use black on white, but when
creating a frame with
M-: (make-frame '((background-color . "black") (foreground-color . "white")))
and running `preview-document' on circ.tex I get the following result:

This is with development versions of Emacs and AUCTeX.

I don't know how you start Emacs and how you tell Emacs to have a white
on black display, but perhaps there is some problem in the recognition
of this configuration by Emacs or preview-latex.

Does the log file contain a closing parenthesis, i.e. ")", which is not
followed by a space or a linebreak?

AUCTeX does not contain a variable called `latex-start-options'.

You can activate file:line:error messages either on the level of the TeX
system or use a command line option when calling the processor. The
former method should be described in the documentation of the TeX
system. For the latter method you'd have to change the definition of
the processor call. In AUCTeX this is found in the variables
`LaTeX-command-style' and `TeX-command-list'. The switch you'd have to
insert should also be mentioned in the documentation of your TeX system.
(Perhaps --c-style-errors, as you mentioned before, is the right
option for MiKTeX, no idea.)
