RE: Non-google online calendar systems?

Not sure if Timebridge would meet your needs... It's more for scheduling
meetings, but it is possible to share availability, or have one login to a
calendar.

We're just running through the same choreography and came up with using
Outlook and OWA. We were looking for a calendar system with these
requiements:

Only one calendar
Easy to use
access from anywhere
ability to share with others and control access event coding print schedule

"Old" Google

"In honor of our 10th birthday, we've brought back our oldest available index. Take a look back at Google in
January 2001."
http://www.google.com/search2001.html

Kinda interesting, although somewhat frustrating because there are a lot of broken links. It does offer
the option of linking to copies of the original web pages via the Internet Archive, but that seemed a
little slow at times.

I did a search on my name, which was interesting. There were a number of projects, conference
presentations, etc., that I had completely forgotten about. Made me realize how much different my life is
now, compared to back then.

RE: Document Management Systems?

Hi Doug,
At the risk of sending you into a catatonic state from information overload,
take a look at http://www.wikimatrix.org/ and http://www.cmsmatrix.org/.
These are two of the best sites around to compare the functionalities of the
hundreds of WIKIs, CMSs and hybrids around. Even better,
http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php has many of the opensource tools
setup that you can login to and try out.
Good luck,
BH

RE: Non-google online calendar systems?

I use Airset.com for publishing my own schedule online. Though the
primary interface is web-based, there is a local client available for
syncing. Airset also features calendar widgets for embedding via iframe
to your own web pages.

Has using Outlook as the scheduler been considered?

Hi all,

We have been using Google Calendar to set up our reference desk schedule
and
most people here have no complaints. However, the librarians in charge
of
our "Information Desk" schedule (think reference desk staffed by student

Re: Non-google online calendar systems

We used iCal from Brown Bear Software for free online calendars before we
decided we liked it well enough to purchase it for our site. You can find
it at http://www.brownbearsw.com/freecal/freehome.html - The free
calendars work pretty well (most of the time).

Public Library Using Wiki for Web Site

There's a public library in Michigan that has created their website
entirely using a wiki. Can anyone remind me what library that is?

Thanks
Mark

That would be Royal Oak (http://www.ropl.org/) -- they used Joomla. There
are couple of others as well, but can't think of them off hand. I can find
out for you if you like, Mark.

Cheers,

Correct, it just has a wiki-like module.
