Fatal Error

 Hi,

 This is Ritu . I am using Emilda tool.
 There are lot of code errors in Emilda application like:

 * If i am trying to add new item :
 1) Clicking Management->books->add new item-> Click Search button ,
 throws 

 Fatal error: Call to undefined function yaz_connect()
 in /usr/local/bugzilla/htdocs/emilda/lib/search.inc on line 84

 Same is the problem with "Delete an item" and "Manage one or more Items"

 links under books link.

 2) Clicking Management->books->add new item-> add manually-> clicking
 accept  , throws a Perl error.

 * When searching for an item:
 1) Click search link -> fill any information in Text box -> clicking
 "Search>>" button throws fatal error .

 * For Returning an item :
 1) Clicking Return link-> fill any info in item id field -> clicking
 "add" button throws fatal error.

 in /usr/local/bugzilla/htdocs/emilda/lib/search.inc on line 84

 2) Clicking Return link-> fill any info in item id field -> clicking
 "Return" button throws fatal error.

 Fatal error: Call to undefined function yaz_connect()
 in /usr/local/bugzilla/htdocs/emilda/lib/search.inc on line 84

 * Reports:
 1) Click Management link -> "Reports"  -> clicking "All books in System"

 icon throws fatal error in new window .

How to Upload MARC Data

Good Day!

Hi! Im using Emilda 1.2.3 as part of my thesis in Perfromance Analysis of Open Source Library Management
Systems. 
I installed it, and I managed to run the index.php in a browser. Its my first time to use the Emilda, 
so I'm not aware of its features. Nice interface. Some LMS I encountered were easy to use, 
by just clicking the button you can now upload MARC data. But this Emilda is different. Anyways, 
I wanted to upload MARC data but I don't know how. I searched every interface of the Emilda, 
but I can't find instructions/buttons on how to uplaod MARC. Does my problem has something to do with Zebra? 
Im using zsqlgate as Z39.50 server for other LMS, does it also works on Emilda? 
As much as possible I don't want to use Zebra since my constant variable in my experiment is zsqlgate. In case
I will use Zebra, 
I would have to use it on other LMS involved in my experiment. That would be tedious.

I'm using Fedora Core 2 as my platform. My programs running in my Linux:

Apache 2.2.0
PHP 4.4.2 (with YAZ)
Zsqlgate 0.11 (as Z39.50 server)
MySQL 4.1.18 
PERL with Net::Z3950, DBD::mysql, MARC::Record, GD::Barcode

By the way, Im a newbie in programming. I manage to install those programs by just following the
documentations/manuals, 
and its very very hard for a newbie like me to install them. I hope you guys can help me. Thank you very much

zebra is
a) a z3950 data-rertieval-interface for emilda (and also maybe others !!!)
b) a general-purpose indexer (and so must be told what data in which
format to process)

i admit that zebra is somewhat a sick to configure program - i for
myself dont have any clues but i suspect it to be very powerful if
understood well (but i never had the time and mood)

1) there is a file called ** usmarc.abs ** which tells zebra which
marc-fields to index how (remember: indexed data is marc)
2) there is a file called ** bib1.att ** which does the
name/number-translation of so-called bib1-attributes which are the
entities searched in z3950-protocol

a) find the line in bib1.att which maps the number 8 :
"att 8 ISSN"
note : the name might be different

b) add a line to usmarc.abs to tell zebra to index the marc-field 22
which holds the issn as word-index and present it as attribute 8
"elm 022    ISSN    !:w,!:p,!:s,"
note : effectively field 022 will be indexed as word,phrase,substring
and presented as attribute 8

deleting record

 Hello,

 We would like to see records being deleted from the zebra server. It 
seems Emilda only updates its table to filter the records instead of 
really deleting them. Our zebra server is queried from other sources 
than Emilda, and with the current way of deleting books in Emilda, they 
still show up in requests to the server  What can we do?

searching Library of Congress Call Number

 Hello,

 After searching for two hours, I still don't know how to search for 
some specific "Library of Congress Call Number" in Emilda.

 It seems to be attribute 16 in bib1.att in my zebra server conf.

 I edited marc.inc to add following lines:

in $YAZ_attributes:
"050" => "1=16 t=l t=r t=n t=b s=al",

(whatever it means, I read everything I could find but could not find 
t=.... anywhere)

in $CCL_names:
                                        "050" => "Classification-LC",

 I don't have any error message, but it doesn't find the books.

 I'm still not that familiar with all this yaz/zebra/z3950/marc stuff. 
Can someone please, please help? We really need this if I want Emilda to 
be used (and I don't want to maintain my old custom php/mysql app, it's 
growing too big).
