It has been more than 3 years since we launched JPassion.com 
(JavaPassion.com).  Thanks to your support, we've grown a lot in terms 
of both quantity and quality in every respect including membership size, 
number of new courses, etc. Now we are about to take another big leap.

 From July 23rd, 2013, we are going to offer 3 to 5 days "live", 
"instructor-led", "hands-on" style, "intensity guaranteed" codecamps (be 
ready to code!) to all paying members of JPassion.com for free. Yes, for 
FREE. Each of these codecamps would typically cost between $2000 to 
$4000.  Now with a paying membership of JPassion.com, which is $99 per 
year for now, you can attend all of these live codecamps without paying 
a single extra dollar. Moving forward, we are planning to offer one or 
two codecamps per month.  Popular codecamps could be repeated if there 
is a strong community demand.  The schedule of currently planned

[jpassion_webservices] How to do resource level security in jax-rs

Hi,

I have a jax-rs based system. I want to protect a user from accessing the data belongs to other user.
i.e Say User1 have account A1 and User2 have A2. Account Resource could be like /account/{accountid}
Now user1 should not able access account/A2, and when ever such attempt is made then 403 should be thrown.

Is there any generic way to solve this problem of duplicate code other than checking in each resource "if the resource belongs to the Principle User"
Can I achieve this using OAuth. Please give me some links if you have any example code or article.

[jpassion_webservices] LAB-4356: Unable to deploy jaxws-dispatch.jar

Hi

First of all I have a question: Is this lab homework mandatory? Seems a bit superfluous to me and not that well explained.

If it is mandatory, then here's my problem with Exercise 1 :-)

When running
ant server run

I get the following error:

[jpassion_webservices] problem with 4354_ws_jaxws_basics fromjavaClient

Hi

I am using NetBeans IDE 7.2.1 with Glassfish 3+ and JDK1.6.0_38

When trying to refresh the Web Service Reference, I am getting the following error

You are running on JDK6 which comes with JAX-WS 2.1 API, but this tool requires JAX-WS 2.2 API. Use the endorsed standards override mechanism (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/standards/), or set xendorsed="true" on <wsimport>.

BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds)

I tried to switch fromjavaClient to use JDK1.7 by right click the fromjavaClient project, select Libraries and change Java Platform to JDK1.7. But it sitll complain about me using JDK6 with same error as above.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

[jpassion_webservices] LAB-4365: MTOM, Homework

I'm working on the homework for LAB-4365, but am getting 0 as the total size of the two 'Image' objects. Within the 'addImageSizes' method of the 'AttachService' class, I'm using a call to the 'write' static method of the 'ImageIO' class to copy the contents of each 'Image' parameter to a 'ByteArrayOutputStream' object. Does this approach make sense?

I'm working on Exercise 1.3 of LAB-4368. I can't get the 'HelloWebServiceWebClientWSMonitor' application to build successfully, I get the following error message:
