Re: (GRE Success! ) (unknown)

I think that you guys might be thinking that I'm working in VLSI
field. Actually I'm working for a software company which is nowhere
related to VLSI. But nevertheless thanks for the response. I'll be
writing my GRE soon and also post my queries.

Thanks,
GRE Aspirant

Re: (GRE Success! ) (unknown)

When I said related, I meant working in scie/engg. You know even being a rock climbing guide is work experience, and is well respected here, unlike the very narrowed down respect for professionals (and the major lack thereof) back in India. That's what I meant.

Good Luck with your GRE preparations

(GRE Success! ) File - Monthly Reminder

Hello,

This is to remind you that you are still a member of GRESUCCESS, a group that aspires to help people, and
dispel rumors regarding GRE, TOEFL, TSE, and other standardized tests, as well as, the entire
application process in general. The group is also attempting to broaden its arms with quaint research on
general aspects and observations of studying abroad. Please feel free to mail your concerns to the group
by emailing to gresuccess@...

1. If you have any private queries, or if you are shy of asking a question in front of hundreds of people, let me
re - assure you that you are entering a group of cultured people who will not laugh, disapprove or hold you in
disdain. If still, you are apprehensive, please mail your queries to me at yamanoor@...

2. Kindly try to make maximum use of the group by accessing and contributing to the links, database, files,
photos and calendar sections of the group. Please be discreet. I shall remove any offensive material.
Kindly add to any of the relevant tables in the database. Please upload files that you think will be useful
for the members in the group. Kindly check for, and abstain from adding too large, or virus loaded files.
Please upload any photographs of yours that you would wish to share with us (This shall be subject to
scrutiny though..flimsy bikinis and flashy pets are fine...but I still insist on cross checking! :)).
Also, please upload any important deadlines that you think might benefit the group. It is also not a bad
idea to put up your birth date, test date etc on the calendar. This is a group full of fun loving people and we
would like to share your joy!

3. Unfortunately, our group does not have the rights to use the polls section. I don't know how that came into
existence. Kindly bear with me. We shall use free tools available on the internet for the same.

4. Please try to visit my home page http://www.geocities.com/yamanoor to take advantage of the resources
linked, that shall help you in your entire application process.

5. Also kindly note, I strongly discourage any personal messages or communications across the group. I
will be moderating without exception, any messages that are either low in utility, or are sensitive,
racial, or disapprovable in any manner.

6. It is my earnest request that you tell more friends about the group so that we can help serve a larger group
of interested people. Also, if you have web pages, kindly consider using the promotion tools to make the
process of subscribing easier for your visitors.

7. Do mail in more suggestions as and when you wish and think it is necessary. Every word is listened to.

8. A final note, as you see, the group's objective is to not only help and provide suggestions, it is also to
dispel all sorts of rumors about the process that keep cropping up now and then. So, it is upto you to ask as
many questions as you can.

Thanks for being a part of the movement.

Good Luck

Srihari

(GRE Success! ) Fwd: supervocab.com update

Happy New Year!

This is Wooseob Jeong, assistant professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I'm also running supervoca.com.
Recently, I added "GRE/SAT Lessons with Pronunciation". GRE has about 3000 words, and SAT has about 5000 words. Each word has its pronunciation right away. For your real study, after every 10 words, you have to finish a review test to move on.
Please, check them out.

http://supervoca.com/lesson/gre
http://supervoca.com/lesson/sat

Or, simply visit http://supervoca.com
Of course, everything is free. Nothing to sell. No popups!

Well, according to my students (Americans), supervoca does not make sense. Rather they suggested me "supervocab". So I added another domain: http://supervocab.com
Real English!

Thank you very much.

Hey..Since you have ample of time at your hands..you can plan your schedule to get a gr8 score on GRE..I'd suggest the following things to do..

1.Go get Word Power Made Easy..its the beginning..become perfect with it.If you put some serious effort into that..It can be finished off in one month ..and even fast enough..depending on your learning abilities

2.Finish the "six weeks to word Power"..book..it might take a little more time than the above book to master..but it's worth it.

3.Master the "All about words " book.At some point while doing this book..You might feel like ..you are doing things which are actually not required for the GRE..but it pays..

4.After you master the above 3 books..Go for the big one..THE BARRONS..it has a plethora of words..most of which you have encountered ..by this time..That marks the end of your preparation for verbal

5.Finally,go get 'The Big Book'..and practise as many papers (previous) as you can..and go  for the exam..

Thats it...for verbal..and for Quantative and Writing Assessment..a couple of weeks of practise before the Exam is more than enough..

Precisely..If you do what is stated above and presuming that U are a person of average intelligence, you are gonna give a blasting performance..at the Main Exam.

Re: (GRE Success! ) hello

Dear Brindha,

Try to read as much as you can from official sites, the archives of this group and so on for information on basic information. Try to understand the layout of the tests, try to identify where you need some preparation and work toward the same. Come up with as many questions as you can, ask us and we will try to help you out. People usually feel the need to improve their vocabulary knowledge, so you might want to start there.

Good Luck

Srihari
