Classical Music Library

Could someone please share the configuration for Classical Music
Library?

When I click links that do not display the full URL (so maybe they're
javascript) I do not get the audio player.

Have a nice day

Here's what's worked for Piedmont College for nearly two years.  You might also make sure you're using the latest version of FlashPlayer if imitating this config doesn't work.

Control sequences in ezproxy authentication pages

I am looking for a way to report the detected IP address in the login.htm page - comparable to the ^T and ^D
substitution operators.

Is this possible?

There isn't a current option to do this, but the change to support it is
very simple so it has been added for the upcoming release of EZproxy 3.6c,
which should be released in the next week.

Re: problem with Gale InfoTrac databases

I think you are talking about a huge server farm out there; if someone
is working on one gate and or a few cows are sick, it doesn't affect the
whole herd..

The problem with Gale/EZproxy at my library went away late this
afternoon. It was apparently all on Gale's end. Kind of strange how it
affected some of us differently than others * and some not at all.

Thanks to all for the various .cfg entries to try and other help. -Ann

>>> ALINDSAY <at> kvcc.edu 2/28/2006 10:14:50 AM >>>
I've run into a problem accessing Gale InfoTrac databases, which appears
to have started very recently - maybe today. We are using the "old"
InfoTrac search interface (ie, not the PowerSearch interface).

I can get into InfoTrac databases directly, but when connecting through
EZProxy, InfoTrac doesn't load. The browser progress bar slowly
advances until, a couple minutes later, I get the message:
"Connection refused by infotrac.galegroup.com, please try again
later."

Our ezproxy.cfg file entry is:
Title Gale InfoTrac
URL http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/lom_kalvcc
Host find.galegroup.com
DJ galegroup.com

Entry in ezproxy.msg says:
"UUconnect connect refused by infotrac.galegroup.com:80 (113 no route
to host) in DoTranslate"

InfoTrac databases were working fine as of a couple days ago. All
non-Gale databases continue to work fine through EZProxy. I haven't
made any changes to the EZP setup.

Gale tech support is also investigating, but they weren't aware of any
changes that would cause the problem.

Any ideas, or having same problem?

Thanks. -Ann

trying Flash and other broadband

We are enthusiastic about the new Flash 8 related codecs which allow for
very efficient streamiung behavior over
plain old http web .

These however are still huge files and eat up a lot of client memory.
No not surprisingly , they get stuck in an ezproxy
connection.
Does anyone have advice or shared bleeding edge experience here?

How about some sort of login outer page that then allows for access to
the un-ezproxified video links or something like that?

Any ideas welcome

ezproxy logging to another server

Is there a simple way to have ezproxy put its logs on another server
rather than logging them locally?

ISI Web of Science : Analyze Results

Hi Chris,

When using the ISI Web of Science "Analyze Results" feature, our patrons
were breaking out of proxy. We were using the configuration posted at:
http://www.usefulutilities.com/support/db/isi.html

We've got it working now using this configuration:

I'm not sure why this works. Aren't the added lines redundant?

OED online & InfoTrac problems

Hi there,

Does anyone have a working .cfg entry for Oxford English Dictionary Online?

Also, we are having problems accessing the PDFs of Gale InfoTrac databases, has anyone else run into this problem and can offer some advice?

Thanks heaps,

Kirsten
