The sentence is not correct, either with "this " or with "theses
are."

Perhaps what you mean is:

In the field of services, building industry, transport,
real estate services and agencies, education, and hotels and restaurants
play a significant role.

Notice the structure: In X, A, B, and C play a role.

There is an "and" before the final item (C). Since your final item is

the compound <hotels and restaurants>, your sentence will have two

Dear Native speaker,

Below is my free writing. Please give me in advance with suggestion.
Thank you

The more you exercise, the stronger you are.

I just had realized that I did not strong and easily tired in the accident at the airport 5 months ago. It
happened when I traveled with my friend to go to Pai, which located in the north of Thailand. We planed to
reach out the airport before checked-in 30 minute but we were late. So, we had to run as fast as we could in our
life in order to catch the plane.  We were very so tired at that time.

After that day, I thought I should exercise to make me strong and healthy. I have started with jogging, or
cycling once a week. I feel good when I do it. Exercise requires high discipline. Many time, when I was lazy,
I always thought that I had no time. I had many things to do. However, I would perceive how long I did not
exercise, so I came back. I intend to keep the exercise usually for strength, good health and good looking.

Hi everyone,

Why do you say "in advance"? I think you mean: "Please reply with any
suggestions."

Thai Curry

Hi Suwannee T.(Nhu-Nee):

Are you from Thailand? Do you live in Bangkok?

I like to cook food in the Thai style. I make my own curry pastes (red
and green) from ingredients that I buy in the Asian market near my house.

What brand of fish sauce do you like best? I use a Vietnamese fish sauce.

Dear Bill,

In your answer:

Now, however, I realize how long it's been since I've exercised. It's
time I started again.

did you mean:

Now, however, I realize how long it's been since I've exercised. It's
time I start IT again. ?

Sorry to butt in -- I hope you don't mind. I think Bill was using the
subjunctive verb form there. Is this correct?

I have a feeling "start (it) again" (which is also in the subjunctive)
would be favoured in case the "that" word were not omitted. "It is time
that I start again." This would also sound more formal.

It's time I started again = It is time I should start again = It is now
(high) time for me to start (exercising) again = It is time that I
start exercising again.

"It is time I should start..." sounds very British to me. Bill's version
is perhaps more common in American English.

I'm sure Bill and others can tell more about this and correct me

Re: Thai Curry

Hi Billy,
You are suppose a good cook for Thai cuisine, I will learn it from you.  I have fish sauce, but I don't
know how to cook Thai food.  If you don't mind, could you post the recipe ?  I will try to make, and
appreciate it for your kindness.

Re: Re: Exercise

No, I don't mind your butting in. This is a public forum and it's good
when lots of people join the discussion.

In testing sentences to see whether the subjunctive is being used, try
making up some examples using the third person singular and the verb "to
be."

1. I suggest we leave immediately.
2. I suggest he leave immediately.

In 1 it may not be obvious that "leave" is in the subjunctive, since the
form "leave" would also be used in the indicative. But in 2 it is clear
that a subjunctive is being used, for otherwise the correct form would
be "leaves."

The difference is even more graphic if you use the verb "to be":

3. I suggest that he be our leader.
4. I know that he is our leader.

Now consider the following:

5a. It's time that he exercises more.
6a. It's time that he exercise more.
7a. It's time that he exercised more.

5b. It's time that he is chairman
6b. It's time that he be chairman.
7b. It's time that he were chairman.
