BelajarEnglish - Posting Guidelines

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/belajarenglish

Please kindly read the following guidelines and adhere to them strictly:

  • Emails must be related to learning English language. Other emails - chain emails, business opportunities, etc are not welcome here. Please look for other groups more suitable for that purposes.

  • Emails must be in English. We come from different countries - Malaysia, Mexico, China, Turkey, USA, etc - all with different languages. Our only main purpose here is to learn (and teach) English.

  • Please be very careful when expressing your opinions. What you find acceptable might hurt the feelings of other people who have different cultural backgrounds. Be extra cautious with generalizations and references to race, religion and gender.

  • Personal attacks are not permitted. If you have something to say that is relevant only to the person, please send your message to him/her only.

  • DO NOT SHOUT. IN EMAILS, CAPITAL LETTERS MEAN SHOUTING.

  • When replying to a message, please don't quote the whole of the original (unless it is extremely important). Delete everything that is not relevant to your reply.

  • Very short emails (e.g.. only one line) are not encouraged. Although short messages are perfectly OK, they should always be meaningful.

  • Do not send your unsubscribe request to the list. Nobody is interested in a message that only says "Unsubscribe me". You can unsubscribe automatically by sending an email to BelajarEnglish-nomail <at> yahogroups.com or BelajarEnglish-unsubscribe <at> yahoogroups.com. When you join a mailing list, you have certain responsibilities as well as rights - unsubscribing yourself is one such responsibility.

  • If you have any comment or point to add to this message, please send it to belajarenglish-owner <at> yahoogroups.com

Thank you.
Ibrahim Abdullah.

How to delete part of an email.

  • Whenever you press "REPLY", previous email would be displayed in the BODY PANEL. You can turn this feature off, depending on the program (software) you are using. Body panel is where you write your message is.

  • To delete the old message, you can simply press "DELETE" until the message is deleted. To delete the whole message, press "CTRL-A", i.e.. press key "CTRL" and key "A" together. You can see that the whole message is now selected. Press "DELETE".

  • You can also select which part of email to delete. Use your mouse. Put the cursor at the beginning of the part to be deleted, press your mouse key (left side). Do not let it go. Pull the cursor to the end of the part to be deleted and let go of the mouse. The required part to be deleted is now selected. Press "DELETE"

RE: Re: Who does want to write with me ?

Hi All,

Due to a lot of new members are coming, I would like to say 'welcome to this
group' hope you enjoy studying and learning English so far.

Whether true or not, I believe this group has been created to help and
improve our English (non-native speaker) especially. From my view, we're
still afraid, don't feel confident to write or post an email to this group.
Making a mistake is part of learning, please, don't expect too much for
achieving English on short term.

We have a few native speakers here say Bill Kelly, Bruce etc...(Thank you
guys for your contribution so far, it has been helpful and much
appreciated). I am 100% sure that they would be able to improve and enrich
our English.

I can assure you that writing a simple thing will improve our English, can I
ask everybody include my self to write a short story in relation with your
study, we want to hear about your country, what's your hobbies or might be
do you want share your problem, tell us what's your great
experience....everything what you want to tell us, write down here then
we'll give you a comments. "Let's make our life more life"

I will write a short story sometime this week, about my experience when
first time came to Australia.

I am looking forward in receiving your short story.

Regards,
Andy

Re: Re: Who does want to write with me ?

Hi all,
I agree with andy. I have been a silent member of this group since joining
the group last year because I m afraid of doing mistake in writing.

Well, here is the short story from me, I hope you guys will comment and
verify the mistake.

I lived in Sabah, Malaysia. Sabah was called The Land Before The Wind. It
is located at the north of Borneo. There are lots of tribes in Sabah and
they live in harmony. One of the interesting part of Sabah is Danum Valley,
also known as the lost world of Borneo where you can find and see fauna and
flora. This area still untouched by development.

Many torusits visited Sabah throughout the year. They went to see the Orang
Utan in Sepilok, 'Dutchman' at Kinabatangan and enjoyed the variety of
flora at Kinabau Park.

OK.

Regards,
Hamidah.

RE: Re: Who does want to write with me ?

Hi Andy and members,

I'm Sa'adiah from Malaysia and had joined this group for quite sometime. I
still having problem to communicate in English. I choose speaking rather
than writing. As my current job is Human Resource I need to use a lot of
English in writing. Whenever I wrote a memo I had to check it for several
time.....and I sure waste a lot of time. I dont have confident doing it.
Hoping so much by joining this group will brush up my English sooner.
