Please right-click on the status bar or click the "Show Message Log"
button which is next to it and then select "Command Execution" from the
combobox of the dialog box.

See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/statusTool.html

To a very limited extent.

Re: how to generate ePub files with svg-images inside

Dear Mr Shafie

I have one followup question:

How do I increase the resolution oft he generated png-file in my epub-file if i stick with the svg to png
conversion.
I tried the following in the file install_dir/addon/config/docbook5/xslMenu.incl with no effect as far
as I can see:

<convertImage from="raw" to="images" format="png" >
  <parameter name="dpi">132</parameter>
</convertImage>

Kindest Regards
Thomas

The conversion of SVG to PNG is performed by the Batik plug-in.

* I don't think that parameter dpi may be used to control the size of
the PNG file generated out of the SVG file.

See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/addons_doc.html#batik_imagetoolkit

* It seems that an SVG file has dimensions in *pixels* and that these
dimensions in pixels are used when creating the PNG file.

Example: XXE_install_dir/demo/graphics/tux.svg:

---
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<!-- Created with Sodipodi ("http://www.sodipodi.com/") -->
<svg

Re: how to generate ePub files with svg-images inside

I checked one of my svg files: width="388.347px" height="220.833px"

So I have to find out where these values come from.

Thank you for your help!

In fact, the documentation is correct and
"file:/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/My%20Documents/DITA/XMLmind%20XXE/Documents/XXXsmall.jpg"
should work fine.

You have uncovered a bug that I was able to reproduce. Thank you for
taking the time to report it.

How to paste from a raw source?

Hi,

I'm testing the xmlmind software, in xhtml.
One question: if I'm working on a raw source on a text editor, and I want to paste inside the xmlmind document
I'm working with, a piece of "pre-tagged" xhtml code, how can I do? If I try xmlmind put it in a "#text" space.

Thank you.

There are two ways to do this:

[1] Open the XML file (the ``raw source'') in XMLmind XML Editor and use
Edit|Copy (Ctrl-C), then switch to the other document and use one of the
3 Paste commands.

[2] OR make sure that your piece of ``raw source'' actually starts with
<?xml version="1.0"?> and copy the text starting with "<?xml" using a
third-party text editor.

Note that if your ``raw source'' is not well-formed, XMLmind XML Editor
will still consider it as plain text (#text).

Also note that, XMLmind XML Editor being a strictly validating XML
editor, you'll have to use the ``right'' Paste command (Paste Before,
Paste (that is, into, at caret location) and Paste After) and the right
Paste location in order to be able to paste the contents of the clipboard.

The problem is this: the raw sorce is not perfect. Some tags are wrong.  My idea was to paste in XMLmind to correct directly in main document, but I fear XMLmind needs a validate input before.

Thank you anyway for your answer.

That's right. XMLmind XML Editor is absolutely not adapted to this kind
of task.

Sorting in the speadsheet engine

Hi Hussein,

It appears that the current spreadsheet engine is not yet capable of performing
"sorts". If this is not the case, please point out my mistake. If this is the
case, please add me to the list of users who would vote to have this enhancement
added to the list of desired updates.

The spreadsheet engine as it is a marvelous tool; adding sorting would take me
one step closer to pushing Excel out the door in our engineering department and
capturing more of our data in native XML formats.

Regards,
Jeff.
