xhtml links in XXE

A whole new task - develop a set of html files for use in a JHelp
system. Aha, I thought, an ideal moment to pick up XML Edit again!

Context:

I've wrapped a few words in an anchor and used the URL picker to set the
target. Saving and viewing the results in an external editor confirms
that the file now includes
<li><a href="start_confidential.html">confidential start</a> and
AirportView GIS</li>

Observation:

In the external editor, right-clicking on a file-name in an .html file
lets me open it directly. I had hoped that that the XXE "Go to opposite
link end" might do something similar, but apparently not.

Question:

Can I easily open/move between files linked with <a href ...>? and if
so, how.

Thanks in advance!

This is a known problem. It will disappear when we'll upgrade
* Our FOP 1 add-on to FOP 0.95+ (currently we use FOP 0.94).
* Our JEuclid add-on to JEuclid 3.1 (currently we use JEuclid 3.0.3).

We'll do that as soon as possible. That is, when FOP 0.95beta becomes
FOP 0.95 or 0.96. (The “current unstable release” distribution of Apache
FOP is version 0.95beta.)

---
PS: Do not attempt to replace the jars found in our add-on directories.
This will not work.

Yeah, FOP 0.95+ also fixes problems with <auto-detect/> fonts in FOP,
so this update will be great addition to XXE. Now I must use custom
cooked version of FOP :(

Hussein, please keep in mind the problem from "[XXE] Cannot produce
PDF with FOP1 addon on Mac" thread, xalan.jar is missing by default in
FOP extension while it comes by default in FOP distro, normally it is
not used by with custom FOP configuration, like <auto-detect/> fonts,
Xalan seems to be used -> FOP needs URI$MalformedURIException from
Xalan.jar.

cannot register command com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.tableedit.GenericTableEdit

Dear Mr Shafie,

Using XMLMind V4.0 I get the following error message, when opening a document:

In my configuration I have set the following, which worked fine with V3.8.1

<command name="gre.GenericTableEdit">
<class>com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.tableedit.GenericTableEdit</class>
</command>

<property name="gre.GenericTableEdit.tableSpecification">
table=Table tgroup
rowGroup=tbody thead tfoot
row=row
cell=entry
rowSpan=morerows+1
</property>

Thank you for your help!

Re: Release 4

Dear Mr Shafie,

I read the instructions for the MathML add-on to edit the MathML in my
documents conforming to a dtd. There I find the following note.

"A dummy configuration which is applied when you attempt to edit in XMLmind
XML Editor documents conforming to the MathML 2 DTD
The MathML 2 DTD is absolutely not supported by XMLmind XML Editor. This
configuration is just here to catch possible errors."

Does this mean, that I cannot edit MathML in documents conforming to my dtd
that includes MathML 2.0 dtd?

Kindest regards
Thomas

WG: Release 4

PS: I now was able to set up xxe V4.0.0 such that I can edit my
dtd-documents containing MathML. I just had to follow section D. in your
MathML manual.

You seem to use a schema (xsd/rng/rnc) to validate the mathml and not a dtd.
I hope this has no negative side effect?

Thank you!
Kindest regards
Thomas

info about com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.docbook.table.TableSupport

I noticed, that the following extension changed from

<at> extension "com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.docbook.table.TableSupport black rgb(238,238,224)";

to

<at> extension "com.xmlmind.xmleditext.docbook.table.TableSupport black rgb(238,238,224)";

I did not find a notice for such a change in the update-documentation. If this change really took place, others might fall over it as well.

Q: how to lay elements in a table row?

I have a document containing elements with the structure:

...

<outer>
    <left>
        ... markup ...
    </left>
    <right>
        ... markup
    </right>
</outer>

I'd like the outer elements laid out as a one-row table, with the
<left> element on the left and <right> element on the right, both
taking 50% of the available width.

According to the CSS spec, giving <outer> display: table-row and
<left> and <right> display: table-cell should do the trick, but that
positions <left> and <right> one above the other as separate rows.

I've tried many combinations of table, table-row, table-row-group and
table-cell, but I can't get XXE to give me the layout I want.

What is the right mix of CSS display properties for this layout?

Thanks for any help.
