Custom View Problem

I've been working on integrating a mathml editor (from design science)
and I've got
it working! The problem I have is that the component behaves strangely
inside the
editor in a number of ways:

    1. At document load, odd "white" boxes appear as the document load
in the upper right
corner. They go away when the whole document appears.

    2. As the document scrolls and the components should scroll off the
page, they float
over the bottom of the document and the status bar to the end of
the window.

    3. If I load another document, they stay visible over the new
document.

These are all Java/Swing issues, but I'm not certain what's up.

The MathML viewer/editor is an applet that I've wrapped in a JPanel.
Obviously, something
is not quite right.

RFE: Atomic Treatment of Customized Commands

When I run a custom XXE command, performing an undo of that command
requires an undo of all of the components of that command. This may be
by design, in which case I'd be curious to know the intent, here. If it
is not by design and not too hard to change, I would find it useful to
be able to atomically undo (and redo) a macro command as a whole.

Thanks, and take care,

    John L. Clark

Re: Error when building dictionary for XXE

I've transmitted your problem to the XMLmind Spell-Checker team. You
should get a feedback very quickly.

When rendering a DocBook document *on screen*, we don't really try to
implement the processing expectations described in
http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/docbook.html. However you are right,
this should be improved.

Currently, there is no elegant way to do this. To really improve the
rendering of empty ulinks we need a feature "label(xpath,...)" (see
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/docs/csssupport/ch05s21.html)
that will be implemented in V2.8.

From what you describe, I think the component you are using (the
applet) is a *heavyweight* java component.

This kind of component does not mix well with the so-called
``lightweight'' Swing components
(com.xmlmind.xmleditor.view.DocumentPane is a ``lightweight'' Swing

This is not a bug, just a limitation. I'll add your request to the wish
list.

Note that when this request will implemented (I don't know when), you'll
need to explicitly specify which macro-commands are undoable (because it
does not make sense to undo a macro-command which has performed a format
conversion or which has just changed the selection).

---
PS: As an XXE user, I find that the fact that macro commands are not
repeatable (using Ctrl-A) even more annoying than the fact they are not
undoable as a whole (example: convert text to emphasis[role=bold]).

Re: Help

You are the first person to report this problem (which is a ZeroG
InstallAnywhere one). We have no idea. (May be the installer does not
like your Windows locale?)

Please,

[1] Download the .zip or the .tar.gz distributions from
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/download.shtml . (You can delete
xxe-std-27-setup.exe which is useless for you.)

[2] Unzip the download archive in a newly created directory (say C:\xxe)

[3] You seem to have already installed a Java runtime and having added
it to your PATH, which is fine.

[4] Use C:\xxe\xxe.bat to start XXE.

How to specify the encoding automatically ?

Hello,

I need to set automatically the encoding at start up as the encoding in xxe
is set by default to UTF-8 and my template is set with an encoding
ISO-8859-1.

Is it possible to set this encoding at start up ?

How does XXE interpret jnlp file ?

Hello,

I deployed xxe via javaWebStart.
Now I would like to modify the jnlp file.
In fact, I tried to add the element <argument> to define system properties
which are useful to my application.
example : <application-desc
main-class="com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.app.WebStart" >
  			<argument>-sysproperty</argument>
			<argument>userName=toto</argument>
		</application-desc>

When I launch xxe I've got an error message like this :

"userName=toto" n'est pas un URL ou un nom de fichier
Usage: java com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.app.Start URL_ou_fichier ...
URL_ou_fichier

How can I define system properties which can be read by my application ?
