Using OpenOffice dictionaries in WinEdt

Greetings!

It would be nice if WinEdt could use the OpenOffice dictionaries, like TeXnicCenter does. With OpenOffice dictionaries, it's possible to spell check verbs conjugation, for instance.

Is there any plan in this direction?

Thanks, Humberto.

Final version of 5.6?

Hi all and happy new year!

Does anyone know when the final version of 5.6 will be released? It has been in beta test for almost eight months.

Thanks

WinEdt Keeps Loosign its Last Status

Hi There,

I use Win Edt Build: 20050701 (v. 5.4) and everything worked fine until a
couple of weeks ago. Now, everytime I close WinEdt and reopen it does not
show anymore the Recent Files List, neither it Opens all the files that were
opened when I closed it.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Cheers,
Marcel Oliveira

Menu: | Options | ConfigurationWizard... | and open the Projects tab, look
at the two check boxes "Maintain File List" and "Restore Opened Files". Are
they checked?

Cheers,  Phil

RE: WinEdt Keeps Loosign its Last Status

Hi Philip,

Thanks for your reply. They are all checked:
- "Maintain File List"
- "Restore Opened Files"
- "Reopen Last Project"
- "Show prj Status Panel"

However, that does not happen. :-(

Cheers,
Marcel Oliveira

Re: WinEdt Keeps Loosign its Last Status

Hello,
       I don't know if this will help but you can take a look at
"Configuration Wizard: Filetype Associations" in the WinEdt's help.

 From the help:
---------------------
By default WinEdt's Project Manager is configured so as to open
previously opened documents. If you start an instance of WinEdt by
clicking on a tex document this may not be the desired behavior, as you
may be interested in opening only this document. This can be achieved by
specifying the appropriate command switch through this interface:

-C="WinEdt Caption"
Starts a new instance of WinEdt unless an instance with the same caption
is already running.
-V
Starts WinEdt in Virgin Mode: The last project is not automatically
opened and no files are immediately restored.
-P
Starts WinEdt with the Default Project
-N
Starts WinEdt with a new project
-0
Does not restore previously opened documents (note: -0 is zero not the
letter O)
WinEdt uses the global register %2 to store the value of the specified
switches.
---------------------

You have to make the changes in: Options> Config. Wizard > File type
associations > Modify file type associations. Insert what's necessary in
the "Command switches" command line. And also do what Philip told u (but
you're already done that).

RE: WinEdt Keeps Loosign its Last Status

Hi Calleecharan,

Unfortunately I don't believe this would be the problem since even by
opening a document from within WinEdt the problem happens. Besides, I have
never touched these configurations and the problem sunddenly started
happening.

Thanks for your views anyway.

Cheers,
Marcel Oliveira

Select problem in macro

Hi

I have the following macro

SetFindStr("\""'\begin{foo}'**\""'\end{foo}'*");
SetSearchForward(1);
SetSearchCaseSensitive(0);
SetSearchEntire(0);
SetSearchCyclic(0);
SetSearchRelaxed(0);
SetSearchWholeWords(0);
SetSearchInline(0);
SetSearchCurrentDoc;
SetRegEx(1);
SetFindTextSelect(1);
SearchReset;
Find;

After running the macro on a document it selects e.g. the lines:

\begin{foo}
Line1
Line2
\end{foo}

How do I complete the macro such that only lines 1-2 are selected and
the \begin and \end lines not?

Best Regards

WinEdt and XeLaTeX

Hello to everybody,
I've been playing with XeLaTeX in the past weeks, but haven't been able to set WinEdt to work with it---not the execution modes, but the text encoding. I know WinEdt isn't Unicode compliant yet (I hope it will be soon, though!). But there are some UTF-8 options I don't know how to work with.
Anybody has some ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Great! Thanks Alex! Just in case anyone else is interested, below is what I've done. No apologies for the crude code (for looping); this was hacked together sitting on the train to the office ... and it works. Phillip,

I've finally decided to change my Acrobat... files as per your mail. I copied and pasted the lines of code. Alas, PDF xchange opens but without the tex file I'm working on.
 any ideas?
