Controlling wrapping by pragmat ?

Although in general I prefer to wrap everything
by hand (such as this e-mail message), there are
occasions when composing long stretches of text
in WinEDT that I find the latter's ability to
wrap text quite useful. /However/, I want it
to wrap only my text, and not (for example)
the macro preamble that precedes the document
proper. Are there any pragmats that WinEDT
will recognise in a TeX document that say
"You may wrap what follows" and "stop wrapping
here" ?

Yes in v. 5.5 or later...

Options -> Advanced -> Environments. You can define such
environment(s). Defaults contain examples that disable wrapping
in certain environments (such as verbatim), but the opposite
can be easily done as well. "Environments" can start and end
with any string (eg. TeX Comment).

Excellent, I'll give it a whirl and report back.
Many thanks, Alex !

Good for you. A sound seasonal comment. Hand-wrapped presents can be
so much nicer than those done in store, or worse yet by machine.

Glad to see your real request (snipped) has been answered.

Works just as it says on the tin :-)

Here is my first attempt, but it would
be nice if the standard Environments
started with one fully-commented example;
as it is, one is forced to guess at the
meaning of most of the commands (if one
is not already a WinEDT programmer).

Adobe Reader 9 does not open at the same page after re-compiling (PDFTexify)

Dear all,

to work on documents, I use PDFTexify and Adobe Reader. Recently, I
upgraded from Adobe Reader 8 to Adobe Reader 9.0. I had Adobe Reader 8
configured (according to the instructions in WinEdt Help - thanks to the
WinEdt team!) in such a way that it opened any document at the same page
after recompiling it. But now Adobe Reader 9.0 always opens a document
at the first page, which I find annoying in my daily work (with rather
lengthy documents).

Which options of Adobe Reader 9.0 do I have to disable or enable to get
this functionality again? Currently, I use WinEdt Build: 20071003 (v.
5.5) - would it help to upgrade to a newer version?

Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Karin Lunde

RE: Adobe Reader 9 does not open at the same page after re-compiling (PDFTexify)

Dear WinEdt team:

I'm brand-new to this list, and also still fairly new to winedt. However, I'm really interested in
obtaining the answer to the question Karen Lunde posed. Would you mind either repeating the gist of the
message from 2008/09/12, or send me information on where this message would be archived?

Many thanks in advance,

And for a solution to the problem, see Robert's post on Oct 5.

Re: Adobe Reader 9 does not open at the same page after re-compiling (PDFTexify)

Dear all,

thank you for your hints where to find the answer. Unfortunately, like
Mico, I was not yet on the list in September/October. Is there an online
archive where one can look up previous posts, questions and answers?

If not, I would appreciate a short summary of the solution...
Sorry for annoying any experienced list-subscribers!
