Installation Manager hung updating RDP 8.0.3

I've installed RDP 8.0.3 from disk. I entered my proxy info into Installation Manager and clicked Update. I
have this dialog box up now:

Progress Information
Checking repository https://www.ibm....tware/repositorymanager/entitled...

That same message has been up for 25 minutes and the progress bar has not moved.

Any idea what I need to do to get RDP updated?

Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

I just started using Report Designer in 8.0.3. Liking it so far, but I have a couple of things I cannot figure out.
1. How can I highlight several fields? CODE/Designer allowed me to click and drag with the mouse, but that
does not work in Report Designer.
2. Once I have them highlighted, how do I move them? In CODE/Designer, it was CTRL plus the arrow keys, but
that does not work.

Thanks

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

1) Press and hold CTRL and click each field you want to select.

2) Move the cursor around one of the fields until the cursor changes to
something that looks like a plus sign with arrows on every side. Then
left click and drag to where you want the fields placed. You may also
move fields in the Properties view as well by clicking/change the Row and
Column values.

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

Shift+Left_Mouse_Click+Drag = Marquee

Left_Mouse_Click+Drag = Move around

Ctrl+Left_Mouse_Click+Drag = Duplicate item(s)

Ctrl+Left_Mouse_Click = Individual select

Many things you used to do in Code Designer like multi-item attribute
changes like color or delete are not allowed. RDP Designer is just a
one field at a time except for Moving / Duplicating.

There are times when you are attempting to move items around and it
looks like the entire screen is being moved. I have not absolutely
determined why / when it happens (or even why its needed). To prevent
it from happening I end up re-selecting the item(s) I want to move.

Thanks, Matt

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

They make you click every single field?! Talk about a massive step backwards. This morning I had 45 fields to
shift six positions to the right.

Matt, I'm not sure what you mean by "Marquee" in this context.

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

I believe you can also click on the first field you want to move and then
hold your shift key and then use the arrow keys to the right and down to
select all of the fields as well.

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

Super! I had not tried using the arrow keys like that (better have the
source sorted to make that work right).

Justin:
Marquee is what the rope or lasso is called in the palette. If you
hover over the palette items a tool tip appears to explain a little
more.

If you use Shift+Left_mouse_click+Drag then you can select many items in
the manner that Code Designer lets you.

Thanks, Matt

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

Can you delete multiple selected fields at once? I know I can move them,
but I always resort to opening the source view and deleting there, because
its easier than using the designer.

Re: Newbie RDP Report Designer questions

Using version 8.0.0 I can only delete a single field or constant at a
time. I don't know if it was fixed/added to version 8.0.3.
