Those folders shouldn't be empty in your current workspace, so what it seems you are struggling with there
is locating your actual workspace. 

The easiest method of finding the folder where your workspace (and .log files) reside is to have RDP/RDi
open and click the Switch Workspace menu option on the File menu and select Other.... It will display the
current workspace location and allow you to cut&paste as you like so you can point Windows Explorer to the
right folder. If you then press cancel in RDP instead of OK nothing else will happen.

network guy says in Win7 to "replace" Docs & Setts with Users...

that path for LPEX editor.log )

Current logging preferences are "Error only"

Guidelines for WDSCI-L mailing list

Monthly posting of the guidelines for participation in the Websphere
Development Studio Client and Rational Developer for i mailing list.

Keep to the subject.  The topic of the list is IBM's Rational Developer
for Power Systems, Rational Developer for i, and Websphere Development
Studio Client.  This includes all aspects of RDp / RDi / WDSCi. 
Including, but not limited to: RSE, LPEX, Compiling, Verification,
and CODE/400.

NOTE: EGL, Java, and Web development topics are better served in 
the lists specific to those topics.

Limited discussion of third party plug-in's is also allowed.  It is, 
however, recommend that questions about third party (non-IBM), non-open
source, plug-in's be directed to the vendor's technical support group.

Please be aware ... a number of IBM employees monitor this mailing list
and will offer help when possible.  Please keep in mind that the IBM'ers
participate in this list on their spare time and so may not be able to
respond promptly if at all.

When starting a new discussion thread, *PLEASE* try to avoid replying to
an existing message to get the correct email address.  When you reply to
an existing message, most email clients and the list archiving software
think that the new thread is part of the old thread, and will display it
as such.

When quoting messages, do not quote the entire message.  Just quote the
parts that are needed to make the appropriate references.

The .log file is actually available within RDP directly.

Try this ...

Click Help | About | Installation Details | Configuration | View Error Log

This should launch a browser instance with the log file displayed.

In my copy of WDSC 7.0.0.8, the file is Editor.properties

It is in my workspace, under .metadata/.plugins/com.ibm.lpex

default.updateProfile.userKeyActions contains the key actions.

Hope this is the same for 8.0.

I located file >.log< in my workspace folder, per Paul, and 
was able to confirm using David's technique.

Suggestion to the Rational developer team; maybe update help, which,
to me, did not seem helpful for finding the .log file. 

Next, I copied all .log contents for yesterday, when the most recent
crash occurred, to another file.

Now, I don't know how to get this to the right person/place....

Maybe post to midrange.com?

If so, I have not done that and would appreciate help with that.
