Seeking information on new Designer

Have IBM actually released anything on the new Designer?

I've been all over the IBM site and through the help systems in RDi
and all I can find are a few pages that describe the components but
not how to use them. I know the basics but I figured that by now
there should be something out there.

What am I missing?

Filter Order in Filter Pool Not Saving

I am on WDSc 7.0.0 Build id: 20070202_0030 and am up-to-date on my patches.
However, when I have set my order for the filters in my filter pool, the
order gets reverted back to what it was with any new filters on the bottom
of the list. Shouldn't this save after I make the changes?

RDI 7.5 Licenses

My RDi 7.5 trial just expired ... but I won't have the official license for another few days.

Of interest is the fact that RDi 7.5 won't even start up without the license ... It would have been nice if RDi
would start up, but disable access to the IBM i specific features.

Oh well, I guess I can wait a few days.

Re: Filter Order in Filter Pool Not Saving

The ordering works / saves for me. No idea why it isn't working for you.

Subsystems in RSE cannot be expanded

I have noticed that I cannot expand the subsystems under the connections
in the Remote Systems view. When I click on the plus-sign next to the name
of a connection, the subsystems (iSeries Objects, iSeries Commands,
etcetera) are displayed, but there is no plus-sign next to those
subsystems. I have disconnected and reconnected, I have closed and
reopened the view, I have stopped and restarted WDSCi, but to no avail.
Does anyone have a clue?

Re: Subsystems in RSE cannot be expanded

I have the same problem in RDi 7.5 within a connection with a manually
created profil.
Connections with the default profil doesn`t have this problem. Seems to be a
bug.
Perhaps an IBMer is listening on this channel and checks this.

You may be tripping over Filter Pools. Try the following:

- In the RSE View toolbar, click on the drop-down icon (downward triangle)
- From the context menu, ensure SHOW FILTER POOLS is selected
- Now right-click on the OBJECTS subsystem to present another context menu
- Click on the option to SELECT FILTER POOLS
- The Select Filter Pools pop-up window will appear
- Ensure that all the desired Filter Pools are checked - i.e. those that
you wish to see under this particular connection.

The WDSc/RDi Help facilities explain Profiles, Connections, Filter Pools,
etc. in a lot of detail.

WDSC V7 Turbo Boost

My PC has 2G memory os W2000 4CPU 3GHz proc.
Still WDSCi is slooooow.
Until I changed a line in C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\eclipse.ini

XX:MaxPermSize in eclipse.ini to 1512M from 512M.

Where WDSCi used to 'lock up' my PC , it now ZOOOOMS along.

Hope this helps someone.
Happy New Year
