WDSCI 6.0 Test Server

Hi

Is anyone else having problems running their webfacing projects on the built
in test server? It used to work fine in 5.1.2 but now both existing
(migrated) and new projects won't run. I get this huge error:

Version 6

Has anyone received version 6? We received what was supposed to be V6 on
Friday, but when I opened the package the cds say V5.1.2. My BP spoke
w/someone at IBM & they told him "the V6 change on the 5722-WDS is on the
Tool Kit only which should be on one of the disks" I don't see a CD that
specifies that it is a "Tool Kit"..

Is this what anyone has received as well?

Thanks...

RE: Version 6

When did you order it?

As I understand it, you had to order WDS on or after July 29 to receive v6.

If you ordered prior to that, and since you got it on July 29 I'm guessing you did ;-) then as I understand it you
would have gotten v5.1.2

RE: Version 6

That sounds like what happened. The date on the order is July 26... Maybe
my BP sent it too soon.
Thanks!!

RE: Version 6

Don't want to gripe too much but surely the BP should have known that.
It's quite clear on the WDSCi web page.

I waited until I ordered V6, don't know hopw long it will take.

Moving sources between LPAR system

We had scenario, wherein we need to move the sources between 2 LPAR. The
following is the procedure/process, I used to move the sources.

Highlight the sources to be moved and click "Make Available Offline"
Once done, WDSC automatically opens the view " Iseries Project
Navigator" and creates a folder with Connection name_Library name with
source filename as the subfolder and all members underneath the folder.
Select root folder (folder with Connection name_Library name) and click
   on "Properties"
Now select "Iseries Project", and change the "Connection" to target
LPAR - should have been created earlier using "New Connection"
Change the "Associated Library", if you want the sources to move into
   different library.

By using this process, we were able to move the sources to other LPARs,
without losing member audit changes (dates) or using savrstobj. I hope this
would help somebody in distress.

Thanks

"External-command Exception" with WSDCI 5.3?

Hello all,

I've loaded WSDCI and updated to 5.3 and I keep getting a window popup
that says I have a "External-command Exception" in Editor. Does anyone
know what causes this? Really, the only reason I loaded Editor was because
of the compare functionality. If there's a way to compare source in WDSCI
I'll do that instead. I've seen the "compare" in the edit menu dropdown,
but haven't been able to figure out if it does the same thing. It hasn't
worked for me. Also, if compare does work in WDSCI, can editor be removed
without removing a lot of other things?

Thanks

RE: "External-command Exception" with WSDCI 5.3?

We usually see that when the user is not an administrator or power user.
You have to be at least a power user to use the CODE applications
because they update the registry.
