Getting Started

I've loaded WDSCi and setup a couple of RSE connections, created some
filters and a few iSeries projects for working off-line. I'm approaching the
RSE as a replacement for PDM and I'm at the point where I really need to
RTFM. I've seen the "Getting Started with IBM WDSCi V4" manual and one
Redbook. What other manuals/redbooks/documentation are available?

Kind regards,

Brian

RE: Getting Started

Thanks for the reply, Vern. More specifically, what I'm looking for is
detailed information on how to use and customize the iSeries add-ons to the
eclipse workbench. For instance, under RSE, I want to set the default editor
to CODE instead of the raw LPEX editor. I can do this in the iSeries
Projects perspective but cannot get it to work in the RSE perspective. Any
Ideas?

Thanks again,

Brian

project mapping

I am trying to run a Web Application that I got from an E-server magazine
titled Using Web Tooling in WDSc by Phil Coulthard and George Farr. I got
the application to run when I took the option "Run on Server"...but now
something has happened and I can not get the application to run...or any
application for that matter. The error I get when I try to run it is the
following...

IWAJ0095E Problems exist in project mappings for one or more modules in
Application. Use Application editor to correct. Project: DefaultEAR

My Default EAR has mappings in it to projects that I deleted from my
Workbench (which I guess I deleted incorrectly since the mappings are still
there)...could that be the problem? How would I fix it? Thanks in advance
for any input.

Edit the application for your Default EAR and delete the mappings to the
deleted projects.

RE: project mapping

Thanks Joe,

Is that the correct way to delete projects? I delete the projects and then
edit the EAR accordingly? I will go ahead and try and see if that fixes
my initial problem of not being able to run any application. Thanks

project mapping

Thanks Joe, I did edit my EAR and tried to run the application again and
still got the same error.

IWAJ0095E Problems exist in project mappings for one or more modules in
Application. Use Application editor to correct. Project: DefaultEAR

I do not know where to go for imformation as to what might be wrong. Any
suggestions?

Also, is that the correct procedure to delete projects? Delete the project
and go into the EAR to remove the mappings or is there an option that will
do everything for you.

Thanks for all info!

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure this will clear up your problem. But it's
worth trying. What version of WDSC are you using? I don't do that much
with WDSC4 anymore, so I can't be that much help, but if you can't find the
answer here, the IBM newsgroups are usually pretty good.

In news://software.ibm.com there are several groups, including
ibm.software.websphere.studio and ibm.software.websphere.studio400.

mapping projects

I have succeeded!!! If anyone is interested in knowing........

It was not enough to delete the mapping tags in the file .modulemaps. I
also had to edit ibm-application-ext.xmi and go to the source view. These
files are under the DefaultEAR.

After doing this my applications seem to be working (or at least coming
up)!!

Thanks Joe!
