How do I get the current position/size of SCITE window

All,

When uses scite (MS windows version), I always use metapath as the
file browser, it works well, I can define a command like this:
  command.1.*=metapath $(FilePath) /p $(position.left),$(position.top),
230,$(position.height)

$(position.left),$(position.top)... are the startup position/size of
scite window, what really make sense is the current scite window
position/size, I have searched through all over the places I can, but
didn't figure out how to define the current position/size of a scite
window.

Anyone? thanks!

ANN: pyscite w/aspell integration

pyscite is a python module for accessing the SciTE Director Interface
on windows.

The code was converted from the Visual Basic code in the scite-ru
project. (http://code.google.com/p/scite-ru/)

Example are included on how to integrate the aspell spell checker
engine with SciTE.

Link to project: http://code.google.com/p/pyscite/

   It would help people use this if there was a simple guide to
running it and a list of prerequisites - it seems to require
wxWidgets.

I have no updated the site with more information. Also a binary build
is available for running without a python installation.

SciTe will not print

This error occurs with both SciTe 1.78 self-compiled on a Mandriva
Linux
2008.1 x86_64 AND the Mandriva RPM (SciTe 1.74).

Whenever I try to print any file, it just outputs the file to the
output
window as opposed to printing it.

It could be a compile error on both my part and Mandriva's part, but I
am
wondering if this the standard behavior for SciTe.

If SciTe is capable of printing, must I specify a compile option for
printing? What libraries/dependencies would be needed for SciTe to
print?

Thanks.

PS I have posted a screenshot of the output here:

    Cant get it to work. When SciTE isn't running it shows a message
box saying so. Otherwise it just runs with no result but has an exit
status of 255. Tried running the commands with both subsystem 0 and 1
(command line and GUI). Downloaded English dictionaries in subfolder
of code. Tried selecting text before running. Tried running on test
file inside installation directory as well as on other text files.

indentation settings conversion problem

Hello,
I just took over an old C project, and I wanted to try the scite feature "Option > Change indentation settings > Convert" to reduce the tabs. One tab is currently 8 spaces long, and it is just unreadable.. I tried to change it to 4.
It seems to work fine, but when I save & close the file and open it again, it comes back to the previous settings.
Would someone have any tips to make the change persistent ?
Thanks in advance

quote from my user configuration :
#indentation
use.tabs=1
tab.size=4
indent.size=4
indent.auto=0
indent.automatic=1
view.indentation.guides = 1
view.indentation.examine = 3
highlight.indentation.guides = 1

I am not too sure if I fully understood.
AFAIK, Convert allows to switch between indentation hard-coded with spaces to tab-based
indentation and back.
If you have real tabs, just changing the tab size will display the code at the chosen setting.
You can change width of space-based tabs by converting to tabs, changing the tab size,
then converting back to spaces.

Now, that might be your problem. These are the global, default settings.
Perhaps you overlooked that tab and indent sizes can be set per file extension.
I have for example:

file.patterns.c_like=$(file.patterns.cpp);$(file.patterns.cs);$(file.patterns.idl);$(file.patterns.flash);$(file.patterns.ch)
indent.maintain.$(file.patterns.c_like)=1
indent.size.$(file.patterns.c_like)=4
tab.size.$(file.patterns.c_like)=4
use.tabs.$(file.patterns.c_like)=1

indent.maintain.*.java=1
indent.size.*.java=3
tab.size.*.java=3
use.tabs.*.java=0

in my cpp.properties file.

EDIT: How do I get the current position/size of SCITE window

All,

I am aware that macro $(position.left),$(position.top)...  are the startup position/size of a
scite window, what I am looking for is a scite window's current position/size.

I find them useful when I use a file-browser with scite, the file-browser need to know the current position/size of scite window, so that it can position itself.

Anyone? thanks!
