boost

I am trying to configure pdfedit on SLED10-sp1
I get the following configure error:

checking for boostlib >= 1.20.0... configure: error: We could not detect
the boost libraries (version 1.20 or higher). If you have a staged boost
library (still not installed) please specify $BOOST_ROOT in your
environment and do not give a PATH to --with-boost option. If you are
sure you have boost installed, then check your version number looking in
<boost/version.hpp>. See http://randspringer.de/boost for more
documentation.

When I check the installed pacages it show the the following boost is
installed:
boost C++ libraries  1.33.1-17.2

Could you help please

You need boost-devel package. You need to enable SDK repository
to have access to this package.

I have checked also other dependencies and you need qt3, qt3-devel,
qt3-devel-tools, freetype2-devel (and some more if you need more
configuration options, which I don't believe you need - see README
for more information).
If you have everything this ready, then simply
./configure && make
su
make install

Fwd: Feature Request: Import Image

Hey guys -

Thanks for working on such a great tool.

I want to use pdfedit to add digital signatures to contracts, so I don't have to print, sign, and fax. I have an established workflow to do this using The GIMP, ps2pdf, and pdftk, but it would be a lot faster to do it in pdfedit.

All I need to do is be able to import PNG's, resize them, and move them around. I am sure you are already planning this functionality, but is there a timeline for it?

Unfortunatelly it is not in the hot list at the moment, because there
are more critical parts to be fixed before we can start adding such a
big new features.
I have added your request to our bug tracker system
(http://pdfedit.petricek.net/bt/view.php?id=218). You can register there
and get info about progress and share your ideas, however I am affraid
that we will start on that later).

the basics for image handling are already in cvs. but as michal pointed out, currently the major focus is on stability and qt4 port.
a very rough estimation is 3 months for this feature to be available.

Wrong page dimensions after editing

Hi,
first to say it was amazing for me to see that a pdf editing tool with
 >this< facilities exists for Linux. Great!
I have the following problem: If I move a page within a pdf document,
save the document and view it then with Adobe Reader, the page
dimensions of the moved page have changed. While the page still has the
right width, it is too tall.
In PDFedit itself, this problem isn't visible. If I try to edit the page
dimensions with the built-in function, it shows me the right dimensions
- none others than of the other pages. The same problem occurs when
inserting pages from an other pdf document. The inserted pages are too
tall.
I use PdfEdit 0.4.1, self-compiled, on a Xubuntu 7.04 machine.

Thanks for any help,
Michael Käppler

We have bugtracker available at http://pdfedit.petricek.net/bt/main_page.php
and you can report this as a bug there (please upload original and
changed document there and scenario(s) where the problem occurs).
Note that we require registration in bug tracker if you want to be
automatically informed about progress. You can also report as anonymous
but then you have to check it manually and if there is problem in bug
reproduction in our environment, then we have no contact to you.

Editing Document Titles?

I am trying to edit the title of a PDF. I found some article on the
internets (http://searchengineland.com/070912-095906.php) that says this
is a "Document Property" but I don't know whether that is Acrobat-speak
or PDF-speak and I haven't been able to see where I'd make this change
in PDFedit.

I'm happy to use command line tools if need be, I just don't know what I
am looking for or what tools I would use.

Thanks for your help (and for a great tool!)
