hyperlinks

Hello,

Please forgive newbie question - searched everywhere to no avail.  How do you insert hyperlinks in PDF using either PDFedit or the libary?

Thanks, Tom

compilation error with pdfedit-0.4.5

Viewing the README, I found some extra features which seemed good to
include, even on my 32-bit system, so:

# ./configure --enable-stack-protector --enable-pdfedit-core-dev
--enable-tools --enable-doxygen-doc --enable-user-manual
--enable-advanced-doc

The above proceeded fine. Well, there were a few negatives:

installing PDFedit the source code, step by step?

Hello nice to meet you.
I am new to Linux and have difficulties installing PDFedit through the source code using the command ./configure, make and make install.
I use Linux Mint 17, 3.13.0-24-generic kernel, x86_64 architecture x86_64 GNU / Linux.
./configure command indicates some flaws that I can not solve.
as definiri the QTDIR directory? You can carry out installation using qt4? (my system does not use qt3).
I need a guide or tutorial step by step to install the PDFedit.
if anyone can help, thank you!
sorry my english, I'm using google translator.

thank you!

Fixing wrong fonts in a PDF files (scripted or not)?

Hi,

I have got from our accountant this file generated by some Windows
accounting software. Unfortunately when opened in Evince there are some
pieces of text which are not shown and text is not completely legible
(the same goes for gs).

The file is available on
http://luther.ceplovi.cz/dav/PCF%20%C3%BA%C4%8Dtov%C3%BD%20rozvrh%20dopln%C4%9Bn%C3%AD-%20code%20682041.pdf

My colleague, who is one of maintainers dealing with Evince and poppler
(and who is on CC of this message) told me about the reasons why this
doesn't work correctly

The problem seems to be that poppler is getting a Type1 font
from fontconfig but the PDF asks for CID TrueType.

And apparently he cannot find a way how to workaround this well.

Another interesting piece of information is that LibreOffice Draw can
open the file and display all characters, albeit with a little bit wrong
metric (characters are bit shifted).

I wondered whether pdfedit would be able to somehow edit metadata in the
file and substitute some useful fonts for the one which are there now.
Of course, scripted solution would be even better.

When opening the file in pdfedit, some encoding (which is apparently
something Windowsy in the file) is wrong.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for any reply,

Matěj Cepl

I have a pdf into which I accidentally saved a revision. Now every time

included. Using pdfedit I can still look at the original document but I

./configure problem [partly solved]

hi all,
my name is dwain. i'm new to compiling from source. i finally found a
linux flavor i can manipulate. i've been all over the internet seeking a
solution to my problem.

1. i know that pdfedit will not configure with qt4.
2. i know that qt4 support is on the way.
3. qmake is found, but not the correct one - looking for qt3

i've been at this "hacking" for several hours and i'm so close i can
taste it and thought i would ask a few questions.

i run antix (debian-wheezy). i have libqt4-qt3support installed. the lib
is a qt3 compatibility library for qt4. i also have qt3 downloaded ready
to install as a last resort.

here are the questions:

is there a way to use this to configure the software?
and if so, how is it written during ./configure?
or am i so far out in left field that i'm miles from the stadium? :-)

cheers

garbage characters produced when text extracted from i1040.pdf

When page 41 of:

    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040.pdf

has the text extracted (using menu item: Page-> Extract text from page
) and then first few lines(2 or 3) of the resulting "Text extracted
from page" is saved(using copy and paste) into another file
(attached), all the characters look garbled. Only a few lines were
attached to save space; however, all the extracted text looks nothing
like what appears in the top left window, which appears just like it
does when i1040.pdf is viewed with adobe9 reader.

How can the characters be correctly extracted?

TIA.

Larry

Re: confirm 5db11c828a90015cace45f9c08d1215968862031

 Hi,

I wanted to use pdfedit command line to change the "Title" of a pdf.  So someone has gone into thousands of pdf files and renamed them in windows, and now we wanted to change the "Title" that shows up (so when you open it in Acrobat, the title bar at the top shows the new file name).  I had written one using sed and sh in Cygwin that works for the non-binary pdf files, but it fails when the pdf is a binary file.  does someone have a command line example of how this can be done for one file (I can write the program or change the file)?

Thanks and regards,
Jim Doherty
