Re: Setting up catalogs

Hello again,

Now I am evaluating Oxygen version 10 as our procurement process is slow :-)
Thanks for incorporating the ditamap resolution feature. It works very well.
But I have one more request: I would like to see catalog resolution also for hrefs in the editor's "Author" view.
Because all the URIs I use need to be resolved, hrefs in <xref>, <link>, <image> etc. are not found.

This is less of a problem than before, since navigation from the map manager is now possible,
and the "Text" view resolves the hrefs correctly when I press F3,
but it would be nice to see images and follow related links from the "Author" view.

Re: Setting up catalogs

Hi David,

Thanks for the feedback.
We will consider adding xref/link/image resolution through the catalog
in a future version (hopefully 10.1).

Schematron for each element validation

Hi all,

My goal is to test if there is only one Element4 in each Root/Element.

I try to do this validation with schematron “a” but the result I have got is the wrong one because “a” is testing if there is only one Element4 in all xml “b” and that is not my intend.

Can anyone help me?

a)

<sch:schema xmlns:sch="http://purl.oclc.org/dsdl/schematron">

            <sch:rule context="Root/Element">

                  <sch:assert test="Element2[ <at> name='Attribute1']/Element3/Element4 = 1">Attribute1 shall be single Element4</sch:assert>

            </sch:rule>

      </sch:pattern>

</sch:schema>

Re: Schematron for each element validation

Dear Luis,

Your description of the problem differs clearly from what you put in the
Schematron schema. From your description it looks you want

<sch:rule context="Root/Element">
     <sch:assert test="count(.//Element4)=1">There should be only one
element Element4 in Root/Element</sch:assert>
</sch:rule>

but from your schema it looks like you want

<sch:rule context="Root/Element/Element2[ <at> name='Attribute1']/Element3">
     <sch:assert test="count(Element4)=1">There should be only one
element Element4 in
Root/Element/Element2[ <at> name='Attribute1']/Element3</sch:assert>
</sch:rule>

Can Tag Indent Be Configured On a Per-DTD/Per-Namespace Basis?

I work with some documents that should *never* be formatted and intended and
some that I would like to always be. I didn't see a way to configure this in
the options.

For example, I often work with InCopy INCX XML, in which whitespace is both
significant and fiddly (it uses things like Unicode paragraph break
characters to signal formatting paragraph breaks--normalizing the whitespace
breaks that).

If there's no way to do this, can you add it as a feature request? It would
be necessary to be able to bind the association by file extension, as well
as namespace, schema, and DTD, since in the case of CS3 INCX, the documents
are in no namespace but do have a distinct extension (.incx).

Cheers,

Eliot

RE: Number of recursive levels in XML Instancegenerator in Oxygen 10.0 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi,

I have Oxygen (Author) 10.0 on my PC and I have been looking for the Generate
Sample XML Files option but I can't find it. Attached is a screen dump of
the options that I have under the "tools" menu. Is there some setting that I
need to make?

Thanks.

Re: Number of recursive levels in XML Instancegenerator in Oxygen 10.0 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi John,

Oxygen comes in two flavors: Oxygen XML Editor and Oxygen Author.
The Oxygen Author is intended for non-developers and lacks some of the
features of the Oxygen XML Editor.

You can download and install Oxygen XML Editor from here:
http://www.oxygenxml.com/download_oxygenxml_editor.html

Code Templates table mixes up?

  Hi,

  I've experienced strange behavior in the table presenting the Code
Templates in the preferences Editor > Templates > Code Templates. For
example, the first one in the table is "! / XSL Editor / not-!" but the
preview shows:

    <xs:annotation>
       <xs:documentation>${caret}</xs:documentation>
    </xs:annotation>

  I tried the "Restore Defaults" button, but that doesn't change
anything (besides loosing my changes :-p.) When I opened that window,
I first tried to re-order the rows in the table (by Name, then Editor.)
 I don't know if this is related.

  I used the Export feature, and the result looks ok (at first glance.)

  Hope that helps,

Re: Can Tag Indent Be Configured On a Per-DTD/Per-Namespace Basis?

Hello,

Do you mean formatting by the action Format and Indent? For the XML
files that should never be formatted you can just add the attribute
xml:space="preserve" to the root element or add the qualified name of
the root element to the Preserve Space Elements list in Preferences ->
Editor -> Format -> XML.

We will think about a possible implementation of format and indent
options at the document type level (which matches the edited documents
by rules based on the file type, namespace, root local name, etc) but it
sounds like a configuration nightmare. Maybe the paragraph breaks should
be marked up explicitly if they are sensitive to whitespace
normalization and if you have the option of customizing the InCopy INCX
schema in your process.

Regards,
Sorin

Re: Code Templates table mixes up?

Hello,

Sorting the rows of the table does not sort the list of code templates
associated with the table rows which messes up the code template
associations completely. We will fix it in the next version. Please
avoid re-ordering the rows of the code templates table until the next
version of Oxygen.

Thank you for reporting it,
Sorin
