4.4pre1 or 4.5pre1? ;)

Hi!

I just found two 4.4 (maybe 4.4pre1?) builds in [Daily builds][]. But
both of them are broken (jar corrupt).

Also I found [4.5pre1][]. So what is the current development version?

Re: 4.4pre1 or 4.5pre1? ;)

Hi Vitaliy,
   4.5pre1 is the current trunk, so that would be the current "development version". Those can be found under just the "jEdit" directory.

The jEdit_pre_release builds are built from the current 4.4.x release branch (the next hopeful release of jEdit), and should be quite stable - but we've had some reverse merges recently and those could be causing issues. I'll take a look and see if there are any errors recently.

Thanks for letting us know.

Eric

Summary: Oracle PL/SQL mode

Initial Comment:
An edit mode for Oracle 11g PL/SQL featuring:

- Keywords
- Operators
- Comments (single and multi-line)
- String literals (standard and custom delimited)
- Built-in functions
- Supplied PL/SQL packages and their procedures/functions

Message:
This isn't suposed to replace pl-sql.xml as both files define different
keywords and different function names related to PostgreSQL and Oracle. I
associated this mode to *.sql in my config, but I think each user will
choose whatever will fit her needs.

committed osql.xml to jedit trunk in rev#19174. Now it is the default sql
mode for .sql and .pls files.
Is there any reason to keep the old pl-sql.xml mode?

I assume this is meant to replace the current pl-sql.xml?
Why did you define a new mode instead of updating the old one?
What is the filename glob that belongs to this mode file catalog entry?
*.sql?

Sorry, I imagine pl-sql.xml doesn't refer to PostgreSQL but to PL/SQL.
Anyway, it seems to cover other needs.

Summary: Syntax Highlighting bug (keyword new)

Initial Comment:
When writing in .php mode, syntax highlighting has following bug:

When writing
$variable=new_variable();

Then $variable is treated as I had written:

$variable=new type();

But on second case it is making a new object from class, and first case it is a method call.

I hope I explained clearly,
Rauni

Summary: A mouse click mark the buffer as changed

Initial Comment:
This problem occurs when the column mode is activated.

To reproduce, simply follow those steps :
1- Create a text file
2 - Enable the column selection mode
3- make some modification
4- Save the buffer, the file becomes unchanged
5- using the mouse, click somewhere in the file and the buffer becomes unsaved.

very anoying...
Thank for the fix !

How do I get a reference to the File Browser?

Hi All,

I'm trying to write a plugin for jEdit and I want to do the following:
1) Get a reference to the File Browser (the instance of a VFSBrowser associated with a view).
2) Get a reference to the directory in the top pane of the VFSBrowser

As near as I can tell from reading the javadocs; the way to get a reference to the File Browser and then the directory is to do something like:

DockableWindowManager winManager = view.getDockableWindowManager();
VFSBrowser vfsBrowser = (VFSBrowser) winManager.getDockable("mysterious.name");
String directory = vfsBrowser.getDirectory();

So my questions are:
1) Is this the best way to get a reference to the file browser?
2) What is the "mysterious.name" used to retrieve a reference for the file browser?
2) vfsBrowser.getDirectory() returns a string. What is this string (URL?, URI?, File path?)

Thanks!

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the pointers. I'll try them out tonight.
B

1. The VFS browser is called "vfs.browser"

2. and it got that name from the dockables.xml which lists all the
dockables that are available from jEdit.

3. For getDirectory(), it returns a uri, I think...
