Summary: Document differences between globs and REs

Initial Comment:
Document differences between file name globs and
regular expressions while making clear that globs are
translated to REs and used as REs internally.

Sorry if this is a dupe, but I have many bugs to post
and am too lazy to check them all for dupes
currently. :-)

Initial Comment:
Using escaped double quotes inside a double quoted string breaks the PHP syntax highlighting from that
point on. A similar bug has been reported and fixed before (#443098) and this problem does not occur in
version 4.3pre8.

Initial Comment:
In the jEdit's Linux launcher are now arguments passed this way:

[...] -reuseview $ <at>

When $ <at> isn't quoted, then BASH expands arguments to words, this is problem when file names contains spaces:

$ ls -l
total 0
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jakub jakub 0 Jan 23 13:42 file one.txt
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jakub jakub 0 Jan 23 13:42 file two.txt

Summary: Debian package description / JDK6 dependency issues

Initial Comment:
Debian package (jedit_4.3pre9_all.deb) depends on sun-java5-jre, which is a little bit of a bother when I
have sun-java6-jre installed, and know for sure that yes, jEdit does work just fine on JRE 6...

It probably should have something along these lines:

 Depends: sun-java5-jre | sun-java6-jre
 Recommends: ... sun-java5-jdk | sun-java6-jdk

Also, I find it *highly* irritating that the package file name says it's "4.3pre9", but the package itself
says it's version "4:04.03.09.00". Most Debian packages manage to handle the sorting and comparison
without any further confusion. I'd recommend that the version descriptor in the package should use

Summary: jedit shell script doesn't handle spaces in filenames

Initial Comment:
This is from the jedit script that comes with jEdit 4.3pre9.

Basically, if I do this:

$ jedit "filename with spaces.txt"

jEdit will open three files: "filename", "with", "spaces.txt", instead of opening "filename with spaces.txt".

*sigh* Shell expansion for $ <at> is funny this way. The solution? Put $ <at> in quotes in the script, like this:

exec "$JAVA_HOME/bin/java" [...] org.gjt.sp.jedit.jEdit -reuseview "$ <at> "
