I'd like to rediscover where the instructions are, too. I remember there used
to be a web interface at a semi-obvious URL for which however I needed a
bookmark which is now long gone. But I can't find instructions on the Gmane web
pages any longer, and searching this group didn't bring me anything useful in
the time I was willing to spend. A pointer to a pertinent article or web page
would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know if the web interface exists anymore. If it does it may
have been subject to bit rot. Only Lars can tell (I don't have any
bookmarks to it either).

Since Sat Sep 27 23:16:57 2003 (according to my home directory version
control), I have been using Gnus to approve spam. Much faster, and as
easy as reporting gmane spam is in Gnus.

But if I remember correctly you're not a Gnus user...?

New Server

Has the new Gmane server been put in production? How is it behaving?
I have not seen an overload message in a little while.

I have not been using Gnus for a while, but if it's a prerequisite, I'm not
alien to the idea of setting it up again. I like Gnus, I just don't have a need
for it at the mo.

For the stuff I would like to do, though, a bare NNTP or HTTP interface would be
fun to play around with, too.

The interface used is a combination of the two: reported spam is
presented as a newsgroup with NNTP, but the marking of spam or not-spam
is done with HTTP.

(that's all I know without studying the code used by gnus)

gmane.comp.printing.groff.bugs (bug-groff <at> ): got unsubscribed?

Apparently, the bug-groff <at> mailing list traffic isn't properly
forwarded to Gmane [1], and the last message there (Date:
2011-10-29) was seemingly propagated through one or more of the
	other Gmane-ized lists instead.

Could someone please check if there's a problem on the Gmane
	side?

(The messages are still being forwarded in the opposite
	direction.)

	TIA.

Official List of Gmane Administrators

I got an email from a guy in India who wanted to have a couple of his messages
removed from Gmane. Helpfully, I directed him to http://gmane.org/faq.php but
now I see that I am in fact listed there as one of the Gmane administrators.

I'm flattered, but perhaps it would be better to remove the list altogether, or
at least either update it, or qualify it with "has at one point been actively
interested".
