Re: [Append of zero-length message] error in gmane.discuss with ALPINE

The overview data is never updated. So you'll get the message listings
for the cancelled articles, but not the articles themselves.

It sounds like a bug in Alpine. News readers should handle this
situation without any error messages, as it's pretty common.

Problem in group gmane.comp.python.rope?

Why in group gmane.comp.python.rope, reference to the article through
message-id does not seem to work, for example, open
http://mid.gmane.org/m1r4y94w5h.fsf <at> gmail.com in browser and it says "No
such article"? The article can be found in
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.rope/21.

It's a known bug. weaverd isn't always able to locate messages by
Message-ID.

news:gmane.linux.bios.flashrom (flashroom@): got unsubscribed?

Apparently, the flashrom@ mailing list traffic isn't properly
forwarded to Gmane [1]. Indeed, it seems that all the messages
archived there were propagated through one or more of the other
	Gmane-ized lists instead.

I've asked flashrom-owner@ to fix the problem (as I believe that
Gmane somehow got unsubscribed from the list), but it may make
sense if someone at Gmane could check if there's a problem on
the Gmane side instead. (Apparently, the messages are still
being forwarded in the opposite direction.)

	TIA.

Is there a reliable way (such as in gnus) to get to the article page?

Thanks.

I've now resubscribed the list.

The article.gmane.org links are reliable.

"compose a message" form

Dear Lars and whole Gmane team,

first of all: thank you for creating and maintaining Gmane!

I think that the text on Gmane's "compose message" form
could be reworded slightly to be more user-friendly:

Your email address below must be valid.
An authorization email will be sent to you after posting.
You have to reply to that message to confirm that you exist.
After you confirm, your message will be sent to the mailing list.

I have a question, too. Is it possible to turn off top-posting check
for a mailing list? Or customize its "compose message" form,
adding a warning about it?
At Lilypond mailing lists, we sometimes have problems with top-posting
check because >'s in lilypond code trigger it incorrectly.

kind regards,
Janek Warchoł
