I've just double-checked the group's configuration and noticed that there was a
typo in the local address. I've fixed that now, so all should be well. But do
let us know if the group persists in not picking up new messages.

Yes, I was in the US for three weeks. And nothing significant went
down! Gmane is officially perfect!

Wheee!

But, wait, are you sure you didn't just go to the wrong country?

Sorry for the slow response - I've been unable to log into gmane for a
while but Lars has kindly fixed the problem.

The issue seems to be that the mailing list has started adding this
header to all messages:

X-no-archive: yes

Gmane only shows such messages in the web interface for a couple of
weeks [1], and the search indexer ignores them completely.

So if you want this list to be archived long-term by gmane, you'll need
to persuade the list admins at mandrake to stop added a header telling
us we aren't supposed to!

If the admins want the list archived, but are unable to change the list
software setting for some reason, I believe gmane is able to override
the header. But we won't against the wishes of the list owner.

Cheers,
    Olly

I thought I had whacked expiry into working again, but apparently not.
I'll look into it...

The cache disk is wonky, and has to be replaced. I'll try to get to it
tomorrow, but for now, it seems to be limping along.

Broken message IDs

Hi Gmaners,
I think I found a bug in the message export at download.gmane.org

Some messages (such as

http://download.gmane.org/gmane.comp.db.axion.devel/5495/5496

), have a strange message-ID

Message-ID:
<1e183cb00710030348n348be617m8125d7f7baa12303__14624.1692979403$1191408547$gmane
$org <at> mail.gmail.com>

Looking at the References from Replies to this message it seems like that

__14624.1692979403$1191408547$gmane$org

got inserted here as an error.

I used

s/__\d+\.\d+\$\d+\$gmane\$org//g

to get rid of them in my mbox download, but maybe you want to fix this in the
database as well.

I guess this is causing the following problem:

When looking at the thread using

Gmane Ruby On Rails list down

The Ruby On Rails Gmane newsgroup has not been receiving
its posts from its Google Groups source since August 1st:

http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.ruby.rails

Is this able to be restored?

Thanks,
