Apple does not want their mailinglists archived on Gmane.

It's not likely to be the case.

I have found WebObjects mailing lists being subscribed in 2001.

It is the case.

The usual way we find out that mailinglist-owners do not want their
list(s) on Gmane is that someone ask for a list and when Gmane
subscribes to the list - and informs the owner - the owner answers that
they do not want their list on Gmane.

You are right that the apple.com mailinglist webobjects-announce has
been on gmane for a short while - until Apple asked for it to be
removed, and asked for none of their mailinglists to be added in the
future.

  Best regards,

    Adam

Cache-friendly avatar URLs

Just one thing:

Let all the identical avatars to have an identical URL.

http://avatars.gmane.org/SHA1.{png,gif,jpg}
will do the thing.

(SHA1 is the hash of the file itself, not the email it was associated with)

spam only in gmane.discuss

Odd, I never see spam in any other gmane group except for
gmane.discuss.

Must be my noffle crosspost filter:
filter group=gmane.spam.detected action=discard

Therefore gmane.discuss does not add that group to the header though
it should.

All there is that I suppose I could write rules for is
Message-ID: <20080531032831.DD430BE297BB5E94 <at> from.header.has.no.domain>
From: Unknown <unknown <at> unknown.invalid>

What happened to the Galeon list??

	(Follow-ups set to gmane.discuss)

I still see posts to it -- admittedly very rarely -- but when I
try to add it to a post primarily to
gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.general, I get an error message from Pan 0.132
saying it's not on Gmane.

posts to gmane.linux.alsa.user not appearing, posts to gmane.test ok

Hi, I posted the same message a few times this afternoon in
gmane.linux.alsa.user with "pc-snd" in the subject line, but the posts
didn't arrive back nor appear in gmane.org or the sourceforge list archive.

A recent post to gmane.test worked.

Does anyone have any suggestions on debugging this problem?

Running Icedove (thunderbird), leafnode 1.11.7.rc1-8 on Debian unstable.

Arthur.

It appears that there is a widespread problem with lists.sourceforge.net
hosted mailing lists.

OpenNIC discuss Mailing List

Hello,

It appears that we neglected to inform GMANE of an update to the OpenNIC
mailing lists (gmane.network.opennic.*). The 'discuss' list for the
g.n.o.general group is discuss <at> lists.opennicproject.org. It is a
majordomo list; can this list be added back to GMANE? New messages are
not being picked up since the change...

Thanks,
Aaron (lists manager)

I've subscribed Gmane to the new address.
What about the other OpenNIC group?
gmane.network.opennic.announce announce <at> opennic.unrated.net
Was this list transferred somewhere else, too?
