i've been troubled with this same patch myself. you said you had
found a propably tedious way to correct the wrong sequences in that
patch. unfortunately my post to the list didn't come through
(berolist requires me to be subscribed, and there's no way around
that).

since i need that patch, would you please tell me how i can correct
this error, reiner?

i'd also suggest that gmane shouldn't "encrypt" attachments that are
obviously not meant to contain text-data with ` <at> ' characters in them,
especially uu- or otherwise only-for-transit encoded stuff!

Yup, I also need to subscribe and /dev/null all list messages. I hope
that Cornelius/Matthias will move the list somewhere else soon
... berolist sucks. :-(

As Matthias announced leafnode-2.0.0.alpha20030731a yesterday, I guess
he also offers a patch to this on his web site.

See Lars' answer: I guess it's not so easy to avoid it in Gmane's
without a risk of *not* encrypting real addresses.

Bye, Reiner.

i can well imagine gmane to have ever improving MIME handling, and i
hope the ` <at> ' won't be forgotten then.

Gmane MX move

I'm moving the primary Gmane MX from ciao to deer, which is a new
machine. This should help cut down the load on ciao significantly.

Expect some slow-downs in accepting new messages while I'm doing this
transfer today...

(I'm also moving the news server to a new machine, but that probably
won't happen until next weekend. I'm currently letting the new
machine rsync messages from ciao, and doing stress-testing of the new
machine.)

The DNS entries has now been updated, and deer seems to be working
just fine as the primary MX. If you seen any glitches, give a
shout...

All those who don't know what it means don't need the t-shirts.

True. But I've now added a link to the Hacker's Dictionary.

Perhaps you have to be subscribed to the list for it to accept
messages from you.

I've now marked the list as non-public.
