[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] re ryo tax

check out d&r tobacco .. they used to make some great ryo brands high quality but will be changing to pipe
tobacco on the 1 april

i have some of there windsail its basically the same as the ryo
only thing is its a slighty larger cut stuffs well in a machine or just rolls like a normal ryo cig
so the tax on it will be $ 2 dollars more instead of the $25 tax
 basically around $20 -$25 dollars a 14oz bag

Sam Gawith's 1792 (Cob) Flake
Gawith Hoggarth Coniston Cut Plug

are my usual smokes, with a bowl of each enjoyed in the evenings after a good meal

My one-time daytime and in-public smoking habit has been replaced by snuff, and I enjoy those evening bowls all the more as a consequence.

Re: [ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] pipe smoking

Hi Patrick,
Note you are a strong flavoured tobacco fan. I bought 25grm of Coniston to try today. Not to my taste I'm afraid, too much like Condor and that gives me heartburn!.
Going back to John I also bought some Punchbowle today. It must be 15/20yrs since I last smoked it.It's now made by Orlik for Sinclairs. Very much the as it used to be, less perique m'thinks, slightly milder but still an enjoyable smoke. For pipe smokers out there have a look at the Orlik site, it's surprising how many blends they are producing under licence.
Go to the site by search engine, if you don't, you get the danish language page. It comes up on a search for English.
Happy snuffing and puffing chaps.
Regards to all.
Eric.

[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] Keeping Snuff Moist in Wooden Box

I tend to prefer Fribourg & Treyer's moist snuffs, like Princes Special, Santo Domingo & Old Paris as well as
G. Smith's wonderful Cafe Royale. Is there any way to stop them drying out in a wooden snuff box? I have a
little teak Sharrow number.

A thin slice of apple or carrot will keep your snuff fresh overnight. Remove it in the morning and you are good
to go.

Re: [ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] pipe smoking

I'm a big fan of Peterson University Flake here- it's satisfying without being too strong for this occasional pipe smoker. http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend_detail.cfm?ALPHA=U&TID=933 Now that the foolhardy tobacco tax has gone through, I'll be smoking a lot more of this, and no more of my beloved Drum. Thank you, Philip Morris.

Re: [ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] pipe smoking

I loved pipe smoking till about 10 years ago, when I lost my voice for over two weeks and the doc said that my
vocal cords looked terrible and that I should give it up. I did give up because he scared me big style. I am
always toying with the idea of starting again with a simple regime of say one pipe of tobacco a day in the
evening and no public smoking. I love snuff, and it has filled the gap left by not smoking a pipe. If I did
smoke again I would definitely smoke Coniston Cut Plug and also four square yellow.

Re: [ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] pipe smoking

I may be wrong but wasn't 4Square produced by Players. I don't think it's available now. Certainly haven't seen it for a long time. The only one I know of now is Players Navy Cut Virginia Flake.
Onto snuff, probably for our American members who do their own grinding.
Have you tried perique on its own? I wonder what a plain grind would produce taste wise.
Peppery?
Regards,
Eric

[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] Re: Keeping Snuff Moist in Wooden Box

Hi,

Pop in a Tonquin bean. Depending on how moist you want the snuff you can rehydrate the bean in water for 1 hour,
dry off and enclose in the box. It will keep your snuff moist for days.
All the best!
F.
