[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] Undesirable Additions

Finding noisome and unwarranted things in snuff is rare. I've just
found what appears to be a small wood splinter in a freshly opened tin.
The only other time I found something disagreeable was a portion of
hair - presumably human. Has anyone else ever found undesirable
additions in their snuff?

Which brand of snuff did you find it in?
I never found anything but clean snuff in all the brands I've ever used: McC, F&T, Wilsons, Poschl etc.

[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] Interesting NZ snuff reference

I came across this interesting website advocating the use of nasal
snuff in New Zealand as a way of moving toward a smoke free New
Zealand. Some interesting information:

Well worth reading. It confirms what I've said previously about Swedish
Match co snuffs being low in TSNAs.

[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] nicotine "resistance"

hello there,

i´ve got some ridiculous question... i´ve been using snuff for about
three months. i have smoked cigs two years, then stopped for a couple
of years, now smoking "regularly" once in a while (let´s say half a
pack per month). i know how hard is to stop smoking (i REALLY do), i
was trying to quit at least a hundred times and finally managed to
quit cold turkey. now i´m experiencing kind of weird situation. it
seems i have "trained" nicotine resistance, i mean not in its effects
but rather in terms of dependence. i can do without snuff (or) cigs
e.g. two weeks - without having any bad physical effects or without
mood changes. nothing. is this possible or is it only my
mind/imagination? :o) what do you think?

thank you very much gentlemen

No I have never found anything in any of the snuff that i have bought.
A splinter and human hair is a bit dodgy.Where did you get it?
PM me if you would sooner not say in public.

I get all my snuff from Greens

Re: [ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] nicotine "resistance"

I was a heavy smoker for about 10 years and I quit with the help of snuff. It is indeed very difficult to do even with a nicotine replacement therapy. I have noticed, however, that snuff is far easier to pick up and put down. I've snuffed for around 2 years now and only very rarely do I get withdrawal symptoms if I haven't had snuff for several hours to a day. I'm not sure if I should say that snuff is less potent and hence lends itself to less intense withdrawal or if it is something else entirely. With cigarette smoking there is an additional sensation in the lungs that snuff doesn't completely have a counterpart to.

Now as to your lack of apparent addiction to cigarettes, that is due to the fact you are smoking only half a pack per month, that doesn't lend itself to strong addiction in most people. The nature of addiction is in the repeated introduction of a chemical substance into the body producing a physical dependence. The exact mechanism will differ depending on the substance.

As to something being "only in your head" I might agree with that somewhat, one might recognize that all sensations ultimately are due to the brain's interpretation of a stimulus. No worries, it doesn't mean you're crazy. ;)

[ Snuff Box The Nasal Snuff Club] Kite

I bought some Kite mentholated tobacco yesterday and ground some snuff
with it. I was very pleased with the result. It produced a mild snuff
with a pleasant, but not overpowering menthol flavor. Also it was much
easier to grind than my usual pipe tobacco. With pipe tobacco there
seems to be more woody material that hinders the grinding process, but
the Kite ground much more evenly.
