ATF gun trace mechanism works fine as is

Bad news for WA CeaseFire: ATF trace mechanism works fine as is
   Yesterday's arrest
<http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/02/28/2884260/atf-gun-in-us-agents-death-traced.html>
of three men in connection with the purchase of a gun in Texas that was used in the slaying of a federal agent
in Mexico two weeks ago demonstrated that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' gun
trace mechanism works just fine as is.
That probably won't square well with Washington CeaseFire, which has long advocated removing
protections that prevent agenda-driven politicians from accessing sensitive gun trace date for their
own purposes.

The Left has lost gun control debate

Washington newspaper pegs it: Left has lost Gun Control debate

A Washington newspaper yesterday morning published an editorial that created quite a stir by announcing
that "The left has permanently lost the argument on gun control," which ought to be required reading for
Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, the staff at Washington CeaseFire, and the Seattle Times editorial board.

Dave's Examiner.com article; comments require shareing Yahoo/Facebook?

When I tried to comment, favorably on Dave's article the site wouldn't let me do so unless I shared through
both Facebook and Yahoo aliases. Anyone else have a similar experience, or a similar reaction to another
apparent push against privacy. Ward in Bellevue, WA.

Re: {Spam?} Dave's Examiner.com article; comments require shareing Yahoo/Facebook?

The site hasn't allowed me to comment for months---none of the Examiner
sites for that matter.

Re: {Spam?} Dave's Examiner.com article; comments require shareing Yahoo/Facebook?

I've never had a problem posting, and I probably still don't. So, I have no ideat what the problems are that
ya'll are having. Have you tried the "contact us" link?

My issue was that I had already signed in using my Yahoo e-mail alias. When I wen to comment, I was being
required to send either by Facebook or Yahoo mail. I was already logged in. When I selected Yahoo, it wanted
to share with Facebook.

They know that I log in with Yahoo. What I don't know is whehter or not they are promoting FB, or they had
somehow collected personal profile information. Yes I have a FB account.

I use a specific alias and account for all gun and survival related postings. Have done so since the first one
of those black choppers started hovering over my house.

RE: Dave's Examiner.com article; comments require shareing Yahoo/Facebook?

I apologize to everyone who regularly posts or tries to.

These fools at Examiner have instituted this thing without really any warning. We're supposed to be able to
turn it off but we can't.
One of the other guys has submitted a complaint, but if I know Examiner, it'll fall on deaf ears.

Re: Dave's Examiner.com article; comments require shareing Yahoo/Facebook?

Extensive on-line research led me to an article by Sarah Robinson who is the "Recruitment Manager for the
News and Transportation channels" ( sjrexaminer@... ).

I have already sent her an e-mail because of this part of one of her posts: "All comments left on Facebook and
Examiner.com will be threaded back and forth onto both websites further facilitating the discussion
surrounding each subject and idea from specific ..."

My note was courteous but firm. I have enjoyed the chance to read Dave's articles; they are almost my only
association with Examiner.com.

My family, friends (original sense), and eventually co-workers know of my gun rights stance. However I
will not be foced into sharing that. This sense of privacy is what motivates me to use the "riverworld"
brand under different e-mail eervices for different audiences.

I know that this is off topic. I will try to refrain from any further comments, unless I hear back from
Examiner.com. Apologies for the length of the rant.
