RE: Get out those pens, write letters
My reply to the noted article: Even as a Canadian, I have seen first hand what victims face at the hands of those who have and will continue to act against the rule of law within Canada, the US, and beyond. We have many laws here, and it has failed, as it has elsewhere in the world. No person need fear trained, screened, and licensed members of the community outside of the confines of an educational institution where specific rules apply, thus there is no cause to do so within an institution within those same requirements. The facts and studies, even by those opposed to such use of firearms in self defence, have failed to justify the article's flawed points and reasoning. What is reasonable is to train and screen individuals to ensure they are not obtaining authorization to possess firearms in an unsafe manner. The people have a right and responsibility to defend themselves and others, and it would appear that the US Supreme Court will follow that in a reasonable manner. Even as only a visitor, and as a concealed weapons permit holder for much of the US, I support the reasonable choice of those(Continue reading)
