Re: Guns For Sale

Beware this guy!!!
I contacted him about the G26. He stated that it was an A?XXX serial numbered piece where in the pics it can be
clearly seen to be an E series. Also would not ship it to my FFL to allow me to inspect it even though I offered
to pay the shipping. Seemed too much like a scam to me. He was going by 2lonely2care at the time.

Yeppers.......I just made a comment on another list he's posted to
that I would pass....and that I thought it was posted some time ago.
I even remember the nick now that you mention it - we commented at the
time about it.

No no. That was not the question, merely the answer. In order to discover
the question we will have to construct another computer!

Phil,

Can I give you a tiny piece of advice....from someone in similar
circumstances?

I too grew very tired of target shooting.......boring. My suggestion is
this..........start at your club, and if they don't offer it, look
elsewhere. Find a club that does "Practical Shooting". Go! Try it!!
I'll bet you absolutely fall in love with it!

Don't let some of the old farts tell you it is a "game" -- certainly
it is! But it's fun.....and *I* believe it will teach you some very,
very good skills.

If you want more information, let me know.

RE: Plinking over paper targets.

Oh no, IDPA is real world. We shoulder roll with full threat level III armor
on over our black BDUs and Camel-backs.

Relax! Its a GAME Phillip! <g> As with all games, you find the occasional
players who treat it more seriously than others, just ignore them and enjoy
it.<G>

Seek out Dave White, he and Phil Ofrias are the Rivanna IDPA gurus. Dave
usually shows up for the meetings, especially when we have cook-outs.<g> In
case your forgot which one he is, Dave is the "old man" with the ponytail to
my obese. ;-) He's also one heckuva shot and an Asst Trainer for Steve when
he is at Rivanna.

I might give IDPA, etc., a try. It's always sounded like it would be

WV only recognizes Virginia and Kentucky permits. Fortunately, I is from
Virginia.

Just another good reason I left Ohio 5 years ago.<G>

Sounds like they make it real easy. My NC permit is good in 36 states, the
only
state that I regularly travel through where it is not honored is West
Virginia.
The only state that offers a non-resident permit that is honored by WV is
Virginia. However WV is the only state that I would "gain" with the VA
permit,
so I don't know that it's worth it.

Lee, it *is* a game. Everyone goes home at the end of the day.

It is not training, as there is no one there whose primary responsibility
and qualifications are to
teach you and correct your mistakes. (Hint: That qualifications thingy is a
BIG give away) <g>

You'll get differing opinions on this one, but I approach it as a
game for two reasons:

1. There's a score and a timer involved. Life does not work that way.

2. Shoot in real life like you do in USPSA or IDPA and you might just

I don't remember which states have reciprocity with Utah, there are 17. I'm
going to look it up and make a list of them to have on hand. Between my
Oregon CHL and the Utah permit, I think it brought my total to around 25 or
30 states.
