Bicycle Touring Workshop: Saturday March 13th

Hello Shift!

March is here, and that means Bicycle Touring season is just around the corner.  And now is a good time to talk about all those tours you want to go on!

******
Bicycle Touring Workshop
Sat March 13, 1pm
Portland Hawthorne Hostel, 3031 SE Hawthorne Blvd

Are you a regular bicycle rider but have never taken a bicycle tour? Are you itching to hit the open road once the weather gets nicer and explore nature in a way you haven't yet? Are you ready for the challenge of riding 40-100 miles in a day, carrying all you need on your bicycle, and creating a new home night after night? Then join us to learn more about Self-Supported Bicycle Touring. We'll be discussing equipment, planning, and cost as well as day-to-day life on the road. We'll also have a few loaded touring bikes to check out. Bring the bicycle you think you would like to tour with, we'll check it out and give you some helpful pointers. This class is FREE. Donations accepted.

yours,
Shawn

Re: Ride with us to the March 6th Community Budget Hearing

Hey Evan;
That's super awesome. March 6th is also the tree planting this weekend
for the Montevilla neighborhood. Is there a means to meet you afterwards?

Re: Ride with us to the March 6th Community Budget Hearing

Minor nitpick - it's Montavilla.  "a", not "e".  Trivia note - Montavilla got it's name from Mount Tabor - Mount Tabor Villa.

A bikey message from Sven Sparkle & Greta Glitter

I happened to run into the fantastic twin-kly duo: Sven Sparkle & Greta Glitter this weekend up in Mt. Hood. They wanted me to send out a message to the bike community that they will be bringing their Silver & Gold Mobile Dance Party to the very streets of Portland this June during Pedalpalooza! In fact, they want YOU to join in the fun -- all you need is some unique dance moves, a bicycle, and some silver and gold! Date of the mobile dance party TBA and NTBM*.

Here's a snapshot of the shiny-shimtastic duo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/redbat/4401405205/
